Me gustaría decir que hablo de la famosa isla griega, no lo es, les hablo de la heladería de temática griega que lleva el mismo nombre la famosa isla del Egeo. Quienes me conocen saben que soy una persona con un alma helena, no creo en vidas pasadas pero de haberlas seguro fui griego.
Me encanta la mitología griega, por cosas de la carrera universitaria aprendí griego clásico, ese que hablaba Sócrates, Platón, Solón, Fidia, Pericles, Aristoteles, Aristofanes y muchos más. A esto podría agregar que de mis filósofos favoritos es Heráclito de Efeso. Pero, esto no se trata de mi pasión helena, sino de mi visita a esta heladería.
Ubicada en la Urbanización Nueva Segovia, al este de Barquisimeto, Mykonos se ha ganado un lugar en mi corazón que como bien lo dice en la entrada “es un rinconcito griego” en medio de la capital guara. Lo único que le faltaba para ser 100% griego era algún busto de Zeus o alguna inscripción famosa del oráculo de delfos como “conócete a tí mismo”
La temática es sencilla, ofrecen una variada gama de presentaciones de Helado de Yogurt Griego, al que le puedes adicionar varios toppings y siropes. Luego de cierta espera puesto que me quedé de último en la cola ya que fue una salida familiar, al acercarme al mostrador tenía muy claro lo que quería, al helado simplemente añadirle trozos de Durazno (mi fruta favorita) fruta que conocían los griegos como “Fruta persa” o “Manzana persa”, con granola y miel. Creo que no hay nada más griego que eso.
Para degustar estos helados de yogurt, subimos a la planta superior y debo confesar que la decoración en tonos tierra claro, blanco y azul típico de las islas griegas me hizo desear enormemente visitar la cuna de la civilización occidental, dicho esto debo decir que me encantaría mudarme a Grecia y vivir una temporada larga allá, en una casa típica desayunando cada día yogurt y miel, y tomar vino al atardecer y ver el sol ponerse en el poderoso mar Egeo.
Esta heladería se ha convertido en nuestro lugar favorito, el helado es de mucha calidad, cremoso suave y digno de los dioses olímpicos. Creo que iremos más seguido, pero para la próxima haré de la experiencia algo más griego y me iré con algún texto de Aristóteles, Platón o algún presocrático. Y seguramente pediré del mismo modo el helado, aunque tienen una enorme variedad de toppings y siropes, tantos que si no piensas bien lo que vas a pedir te puedes confundir y terminar mezclando sabores de manera poco convencional.
Sé que esta heladería es una cadena de helados que está en muchas ciudades, si has llegado hasta aquí cuéntame, has visitado alguna Mykonos o algún establecimiento similar.

To taste these yogurt ice creams, we went up to the top floor, and I must confess that the decor in light earth tones, white, and blue, typical of the Greek islands, made me want to visit the cradle of Western civilization. That said, I must say that I would love to move to Greece and live there for a long time, in a typical house, eating yogurt and honey for breakfast every day, drinking wine at sunset and watching the sun go down over the mighty Aegean Sea.

This ice cream shop has become our favorite place. The ice cream is high quality, creamy, smooth, and worthy of the Olympic gods. I think we'll go more often, but next time I'll make the experience a little more Greek and bring along a text by Aristotle, Plato, or one of the pre-Socratics. And I'll probably order the ice cream the same way, even though they have a huge variety of toppings and syrups, so many that if you don't think carefully about what you're going to order, you can get confused and end up mixing flavors in an unconventional way.
