Sometimes, the best moments happen unexpectedly.
Last night, I couldn't attend our weekly meeting in person because of the stye in my eye. I thought I will just end the week resting at home when I suddenly received a message from my friends Janine and Kiko, a young couple who I met 2 years ago. They told me they were in town and wanted to see me for a quick catch up. Since they already live far from me now, I got excited as soon as I received Janine's chat. Even though I'm feeling unwell, I knew I could not miss the chance to spend time with them after so long. And I feel like it will also be a good chance to recharge after all the stress I had at work this week.
After a while, they arrived at our subdivision and picked me up with their car. We then went for some steak at a local steakhouse near where I live which is called "Fields Steak and Grill".

A quick groufie to document the meet up. I look so haggard wearing my crumpled house clothes 😭.

I didn't expect that there is a steakhouse like that in my neaighborhood because they sold steaks that were much cheaper compared to the expensive steaks in other restaurants. Look how we only spent ₱1,310 or roughly 21 dollars.

When we got there, the place was full of people which shows how popular the place is. We had to wait for around six minutes before we got a table.

We were supposed to order Australian Porterhouse but due to high demand, it is already sold out so we decided to order T-bone instead, and thankfully, they were still really good.

Since Janine and I both have sweet tooths, we also ordered a slice of blueberry cheesecake for dessert.
As “trentahins” who are getting older and cannot handle super sweet desserts anymore, we loved how the cheesecake was not too sweet. It was just right for our taste.
We spent the rest of the night talking, laughing, and sharing stories about little updates in our lives, because even as friends, we're not the type to talk amd chat with each other most of the time. We are one of those who prefer catching up in person. And I love how it felt like nothing had changed between us even though we rarely see each other. Before the night ended, we made plans for them to visit again soon. It was a simple and unplanned meet up, but it became one of those moments that I know I will always remember.
