Hello to all lovers of good food and healthy treats!
This pie was the first recipe my late mother taught me, mainly because it’s so simple to prepare—especially if you use ready-made phyllo sheets instead of making your own dough.
Kids absolutely love the rolled apple version with walnuts and cinnamon, while I like to add brown cane sugar for a richer, fuller sweetness. And honestly, adults always ask for an extra piece too.

📝 Ingredients:
500g thin phyllo pastry sheets
1kg apples (Golden Delicious recommended)
200g chopped walnuts
Cinnamon (to taste)
1/2 cup olive oil mixed with water (50:50)
500g low-fat cheese (0% fat)
1 egg
2 tbsp sour cream (or 1/2 cup yogurt, optional)
👨🍳 Preparation:
Cheese filling:
Mix the cheese with one egg and add sour cream (or yogurt). Stir until smooth.

Apple & walnut filling:
Grate the apples and finely chop the walnuts. Mix them together. Lightly squeeze excess juice from apples to avoid soggy dough.

🥧 Assembly:
Take 3 sheets of phyllo and lightly brush them with the olive oil + water mix.
Spread a thin layer of cheese filling and roll into a long shape.

For the apple version:
Evenly spread the apple-walnut mix, then sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar. Roll tightly.

Brush each roll with the oil mixture and place in a baking tray.

🔥 Baking:
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown.

🍽️ Serving:
Let it cool slightly, cut into pieces, and dust with powdered sugar.
The aroma of baked apples, cinnamon, and walnuts quickly fills the home and gathers everyone around the table. The slices disappear fast—especially with kids!

This is a healthy and simple dessert I warmly recommend to all parents. This dessert is planned to participate in @ Hive Top Chef competition.
Enjoy and let me know your results!
