Hello everyone, today I prepared American pancakes and wanted to share the recipe with you here in the group. For this recipe for 4 people you need:

  1. Oil or butter for greasing the pan
    2.2 eggs
    3.1/3 cup oil
4.Maple syrup or honey or cream or jam or powdered sugar (I used plum jam and cream)
  2. 2.5 cups flour (preferably type 400)
  3. 1/3 cup sugar
  4. 1.baking powder
  5. pinch of salt
  6. 2 cups milk

Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites into two bowls. Beat the yolks with the milk using a mixer, then gradually add the flour, baking powder, sugar, and oil.

When poured, the batter should fall in a steady, medium-flow stream.

In another bowl, beat the egg whites for about 5 minutes, adding a small pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the yellow mixture using a spatula until a smooth, thick batter forms.

For cooking, scoop the batter with a ladle and pour it into even circles onto a lightly oiled pan.

After about 60 seconds, bubbles will begin to form and pop, leaving small holes — a sign the batter is perfect. Once the pancake turns golden brown, flip it using a silicone or wooden spatula.

Repeat patiently for each pancake, keeping the heat at medium to prevent burning. When you tear the pancake into small pieces, the inside should not be undercooked or gummy — the texture should be light and fluffy, like a sponge cake.

When finished, top with maple syrup, honey, chocolate spread, or sugar as desired. Enjoy!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this recipe — feel free to share your tips and variations on American pancakes, or simply try making them this way.

Until next time, warm culinary greetings from Prof. Dušan! Enjoy!

P.S. In the first photo with the ingredients, the background features a masterpiece by my five-year-old son Aleksandar — clothes scattered all over the room and the top of the Christmas tree slightly bent. My apologies to everyone for this holiday ‘magic.’ Cheers!

Excellent recipe, I sometimes make it at home too and the result is incredible, fluffy pancakes. Although they are usually served with cheese and ham 😂🫣
