Hello, friends especially foodies!

Recently I wanted to try one of the newest most favorite Korean restaurant which was located in Central Park Mall. But we needed to come there when it hadn’t lunch time yet, yes we came there early. We came there just a moment after they just opened and looked there already a table with customers there. The name of the restaurant is 88 SEOUL – Seoulful Korean Cuisine.

They provided some soft chairs for the line up customers later, right in the other side of the restaurant, while in the corner they had a screen showing their menu. Also you could see their menu book right in front of the restaurant.

Inside, the interior would bring you back to the past time. They had wooden metal chairs which reminded me of the old chairs in my school. Homy and welcoming, such a nice place to dine in.

A waiter delivered us on a table which was located inside, at the corner. Good thing so I had the sofa.

In this restaurant, they offered you with the warmth of the Korean Home Meal, like their interior, it would presents a taste of Seoul nostalgia.

For the menu, they had
CHAMPION SET (for a person) and VICTORY SET (for two persons)

In Champion Set you would get 1 rice + 1 main dish + 1 soup + 5 Banchan, while in Victory Set you would get 2 rices + 1 main dish + 1 chicken tangsuyuk/beef japchae + 2 soups + 6 Banchan.
The choices of main dish you could choose are beef bulgogi, ganjang chicken, US Prime beef galbi, maewoon chicken, yangnyeom chicken, yangnyeom shrimp, ojingeo bakkeum, and sweet chili shrimp.

The main dish they offer are: maewoon chicken, beef bulgogi, yangnyeom chicken, yangnyeom shrimp, ojingeo bokkeum, ganjang chicken, US prime beef galbi and sweet chili shrimp. It is the exact same with the choices of the main dish in the package.

For side dish, they had chicken tangsuyuk, gyeran-jjim, haemul sundubu, bibim guksu, haemul pajeon, and beef japchae.

For the drinks, they only had few choices like Korean sparkling water, green tea and mineral water.

After had ordered the food we wanted, we were waiting and looked around. I liked the old atmosphere there and some things drew my attention.

The green tea came first and you could take how much you wanted because it was free flow.

It had matcha flavour, a bit bitter. And also it tasted fresh too.
You could take how much you need in the free flow counter.

Next, the waiter delivered our rices and also two bowls of soups. The soups they gave us were seaweed soup, I couldn’t wait to taste it.

Then not a long time until our VICTORY SET came….

But actually we also ordered one more ala carte main dish, but it hadn’t come yet. So before it came, we couldn’t wait to start our brunch there.

First, we tried the soup.

SEAWEED SOUP

It had the mild flavour of savory. With natural flavour of seaweed, it had sweet flavour too. I love how natural the flavour was and even my boyfriend asked me if we could get free flow soup too. LOL!

Then we tried many starters in small dishes, that they called BANCHAN.

One by one they were

FISHCAKE

It was chewy and soft with tasty savory flavour.

KIMCHI

Fresh and tasty, it had no bitter flavour, just sweet and sour, which tasted so great!

MACARONI SALAD

The macaroni and potato with mayonnaise mixed sauce, it had tasty sweet and sour flavour. What I loved the most for the banchan.

CUCUMBER PICKLES

It had sweet, sour and spicy flavour.

GREEN VEGGIE

I didn’t know what kind of veggie it was, but it had light savory flavour.

FRIED EGG/OMELETTE

It had light savoury flavour and so smooth with non greasy texture.

Then the other main dish we ordered came… (FINALLY)

Now let me explain about the main dish and side dish we had…

For the main dish we had

BEEF BULGOGI

Eventhough the beef slices were thick and not too soft but it tasted so good. It didn’t had much in sweet flavour and it had balanced mixed with savoury flavour. It also had lots of sesame seed that brought the good smell and flavour plus it had onion and carrot too. Well, it was the best bulgogi I ever had. We loved it, superb!

YANGNYEOM SHRIMP

With the red sauce that wrapped the fried shrimp, it looked spicy, right? But they didn’t. It had sweet and sour flavour with a bit savory flavour. The shrimps were fresh and it was perfect for seafood lovers!

For the side dish we chose

TANGSUYUK

Their chicken tangsuyuk had long shape with crispy soft flour around the chicken. The chicken meat was tender and had savory flavour. It served with sweet sour sauce and also cabbage. Superb tangsuyuk cause it wasn’t fishy at all, and I loved its’ flavour that wasn’t too much.

Well, overall we loved being there to have our brunch. Take a look at the result!

The flavour of their home meals were superb, the ambience was great and the service was excellent. No wonder many customers came while we were there until we finished our food.
