Hello, friends especially foodies!

One Sunday after Sunday service, my boyfriend and I went to blok M area in South Jakarta. This area is well known for many restaurants and food stalls, so if you want to find viral food, you could come to this place.

One of the popular restaurant that sells tom yum is IRON FIST, an American Chinese clay pot specialist restaurant. And it placed in an old building.

At the front they promote their tom yum with a large photo of this menu.

As we walked inside, they had some outdoor chairs. Whoah, inside, many customers were there even when it was not lunch time because when we arrived there it was around 4 pm and all the tables they had were almost full.

As an old building, inside they had retro industrial concept so no wonder you see steel chairs all around and for the table they used wooden ones with the steel combination of the feet.

The menu that they showed us was not interesting because they had no book menu, they only gave us the order paper and then told us to see the pictures on their instagram. Look at their order paper!

Well we then saw around. What we found out: in our table they placed the ultimate tom yum again which made us curious more about this menu.

On one of their wall, they hung their other food menu like kind of their clay pot rice, imperial short ribs, beef char siu, braised beef, beef black pepper, roast duck, roast chicken, fish kung pao, ultimate tom yum (again), seafood tom yum, chicken tom yum, hot plate chicken noodle, curry noodle, beef mee shoa, and chicken mee shoa. With some sides like gold nuggets, wings salad, pan-seared potstickers, garlic butter sautéed pak choy, and fried eggplant. For weekend, they had mala Mac and cheese clay pot.

Unfortunately they didn’t hang any of their drink menu so we needed to buy it on luck because we never saw any of their kind of drinks before.

Not a long time after ordered, our drink arrived. This is what they called

DRAGON’S ORCHARD

It was kind of non alcoholic mocktail which contained lychee juice, orange juice, pineapple juice, and grenadine syrup. They also put on toppings like pineapple, orange, and lychee on a stick. This mix juice had mixture of flavor between sweet and also a bit sour. Served chilled it was a relieve for our sunny afternoon. Well this drink was great, but what about the food?

ULTIMATE TOM YUM

Their ultimate tom yum contained their homemade noodles, squid, tiger prawn, chicken meatballs, egg yolk, coriander, lime and chili. The squid were soft and chewy. Prawn were okay. Chicken meatballs had soft texture with savory flavor.

Looked so great but we dissatisfied with the flavor, because the soup had light taste than how tom yum usually are. It had savory and sour with a bit spicy flavor. And also they said the portion could be up to three persons, but we thought it only could be for two persons.

Well, we won’t come back for their tum yum, absolutely!
