First Try Freshly Made Japanese Noodle

in Foodies Bee Hive2 days ago

Hello, friends especially foodies!

Last weekend when I craved for gyoza, then I tempted to try Japanese Noodle (a.k.a ramen), well what made me interested much was they made it freshly at the restaurant. You even could see the process there. Well, we came to Blok M which well known as Little Tokyo area too, in the area there was a ramen specialist restaurant which never lack of customers.

The restaurant where we had our freshly made ramen, named Echigoya Ramen. At front you couldn’t see inside because they had sliding door which only has some small glass windows. So we couldn’t know how crowded it is inside.

Inside, you could see a long dining area, what made this place unique.

First, you could see how they made fresh noodle there through a large glass window.

Then, you could also see the open kitchen, so you could know how the chefs cook your noodle.

When we came it was 3 pm something but still there quite much customers there before us..

The dining area they had quite large, but no privacy between each table cause they put some in rows. Not my type of restaurant to do chit chat, i would be quick there, only to enjoy the food then gone.

Curious with their fresh noodle, we opened their menu

They had monas ramen for the first page, while on the left, they showed the process of their freshly made noodle.
Then they had echiran ramen, Jakarta pork ramen, koteri ramen, monas ramen (they mentioned it again), tonkotsu ramen, and chuka soba.
Next, for chicken ramen, they had tori paitan ramen, tori echiran ramen, and echigoya ramen. For hot spicy noodle, they had karubi soup ramen and geki kara ramen. You even could try their mixed pork and chicken topping with tanmen and ramen choice.
Then, they had pork ramen with chicken broth with choices like chashu men, negi ramen, miso ramen, miso chashu men, and negi miso ramen. They also still had stamina ramen, mabo ramen, moyashi ramen, curry ramen, yakisoba and katayakisoba.
For hiyashi men, they had tsukemen, yasai tsukemen, samurai tsukemen, spicy hiyashi chuka and hiyashi chuka. You could also order for more topping, And look they had gyoza (but unfortunately it was chicken only).
After all those noodle, finally they also had some rice dishes like chahan, curry rice, stamina bowl, chuka don, mini tamago don, mini torichasyu don, mini butachadon, syougayaki don, buta kumuchi don, gyu yakiniku don, mabo don, and aka kara Gohan. For ala carte menu, they had gyoza (mentioned twice), tori karaage, potato furai, hot karaage, ebi furai, potato cheese age, ebi karaage, takoyaki, negi takoyaki, corn butter and age shumai.

They also still had some ala carte menu like chuka iidako, chuka wakame, chuka kurage, hiyashi tomato, hiyayakko, maruten, dashimaki tamago, spicy tamagoyaki, pork spam, gyutan, morokyu, bori bori kyuri and natto; otahmami set A/B, chashu moyashi ae, moyashi itame, buta nira itame, kimuchi tamago itame, gyu/buta kimuchi itame, yasai itame, hoikohro, enoki gyu butter, popai butter, menma butaniku itame, mabotofu, yakiniku salad, mixed salad, and onion slice.

For drinks, they had some kind of beer, soda, mineral water, oolong tea, green tea, lime, you, bottled tea, fruit juice, ocha and some others. They also had mochi ice cream too.

After had ordered the ocha came first, while I chose the hot one, my boyfriend asked for cold one. Their ocha tasted good with matcha authentic flavour, a bit bitter but tasty. Even free flow, it was not easy to get refill there, because the waiters were busy almost all the time.

Then, the ala carte appetizer came, GYOZA.

Hungry, we decided to have it before the ramen came.

Their gyoza had light savory flavour of chicken meat filling, with chopped Chinese leaks too. You could also felt the sesame oil they used to make it. The skin had medium thickness. Well their gyoza was just as it is, quite tasty. But it was not the best for me. In addition, I should add shoyu in order to make it more savory.

Next, finally what we had been waiting for, freshly made ramen. That day we chose CHASHU MEN.

Their bowl was large so we decided to have only a portion of their noodle then share it together.

The taste of it..

well, the texture of the noodle chewy, a bit curly and soft, yes it was easy to bite.

Simple, they served with pork chashu meat. The pork meat was amazing, I mean they were soft and contained a bit fat. The taste of it was savory. Well, for this variant of noodle, the broth made from chicken but OMG it tasted so good too. Yeah, freshly made noodle made it all even tastier.

Oh yeah i also put some chili powder to make it a bit spicy. I cannot resist it. Oishii!

Overall we loved their freshly made noodle and we may come later to try their other variant of Japanese noodle!
