Hi folks, I am new here! Found this communitiy after experiencing a tremendous meal in an authentic szechuan / chinese restaurant in Hamburg/Germany wich I desperately need to share with you guys.
First of all lets talk about the focus spice: szechuan pepper. Damn, that tingling on the lips, that at the same moment sweet and spicy taste that - I just don't know, what is it, I just experienced??
Combined with a lot of other spices and ingredients I never tasted someething like that before.
Second: lets also talk about the food itself. Its not only beef, pork, Chicken, duck. No no no! Trotters, hog maw, intestines, duck blood pudding, tribes, century eggs, tendons ... there are actually two menues: the first part is the one for boring european taste and the second part is authentic. And delicious as hell!!!
Third: restaurant staff is welcoming, friendly, patient towards all my thousand questions about the menue. So nice people there!
So here comes my recommendation for whenever you visit Hamburg: next to the main station (in fact just cross the street!) you'll find the "Shudu" - thats the place I am talking about and pleas tell me how it was.
I know, rules of the community requiere at least three pictures of my face. I do my best but these are just to fulfill the rules, I didn't picture myself when I was at the restaurant.
My favourite: Beef salad actually made with tendons and intestines and a little beef as well

Simply me at my office when writing that post

Me and my beautiful Leonberger dog Ella (see my other posts about life with a leonberger!)

Me with Ella when she was a little pup visiting the puppie-school

Look at that awesome prawns! Made with chili & pepper oil

Double baked pork belly with vegetables. Hot and spicy!

My second favourite: Hot fish pot. Yes - its hot!! (You can see the chilies and szechuan peppers swimming around)
