Michelin-Recognized Mee Hoon Kueh at Geylang Bahru

in Foodies Bee Hive28 days ago

I was reading a post earlier about some new developments happening or about to happen in the world of blockchain. It’s funny how some of the things they mentioned were described as super simple, while I was sitting there completely clueless about it all. LOL. It just goes to show how many tech-savvy people we have here who talk about complex coding and software design like it's the most mundane thing in the world. I ended up leaving the post without engaging because it just didn’t feel like something I could relate to. Hahaha.

I’d rather stick to things I can actually understand and experience firsthand… and I’m talking about food!

I want to share another food discovery I made two days ago when I visited the Geylang Bahru area. There's a big hawker centre near the MRT station, so I decided to check out what they had to offer.

It was already nighttime when I arrived, so most of the stalls were closed. I had to choose from the few that were still serving food. Luckily, one of the open stalls was actually featured in the Michelin Guide, so I queued up on purpose to give their food a try.

The menu looks like that of a typical noodle stall, but the Michelin Guide recognition tells me they are doing something special with their food, so I wanted to taste the difference compared to other stalls. Their prices are higher than what you would normally see at noodle stalls, which also suggests a certain level of quality.

I ordered one of their must-try dishes, and it was actually my first time trying this particular kind of noodle. It is called Mee Hoon Kueh, a type of noodle that is wide and flat. While deciding what to order, I figured this dish would soak up all the flavors of the sauce, something I knew I would definitely enjoy.

Overall, it was a satisfying food experience that reminded me why I love exploring local eats. Discovering gems like this makes every food trip feel worthwhile. I’ll definitely be back to try more from this stall and others in the area.

Wah! Didn't knew there is such a stall there even when I frequent this place. Thank you for sharing, will try it out this weekend.

Haha same here... I was surprised too! Glad you found it useful. Hope you enjoy the noodles this weekend! 🍜

Thank you so much for the support!

You're very welcome. It's a really nice post

Wow! Didn't know this stall existed there. It's less than a 10 minute drive away from me! I really must explore that area in depth one fine day.

You definitely should! It's always fun to explore hidden gems nearby. Let me know if you end up trying it!

Wow! that was many food stall, and What I like the food stall is there yummy yet very affordable foods.

Yes, that's one of the best parts of hawker centres, tasty food that won’t break the bank! Glad you feel the same!

The prices may seem expensive compared to there, but if the food is filling and delicious, I think it's quite reasonable. In my country (Turkey), the cheapest meals start at $5. I'm sure the food you eat at that restaurant is much tastier 😂

Totally agree... if it’s delicious and filling, it’s worth the price. I’d love to try Turkish street food one day too!

Turkish street food also delicious. Let me know if you visit Turkey and I can advice you something 👍

The food looks appetizing good. I also like to eat at food stalls because the foods there are tempting. But also a bit pricey😅

Same here! Food stalls always have that tempting smell and flavor, even if the price is a bit higher sometimes 😅

same as me,I would prefer not to interact with something I dont really relate,I'm also not a tech savy,is this bad?😂🤣anyways those pictures look appetizing,I suddenly carve for a bowl of noodle🤤

Not bad at all! We all have our own interests — and yes, that bowl of noodles was truly satisfying 🤤
