Hi friends, here I am again, the annoying one. I won't bother you with intro this time cause I am always telling the same story at the beginning (zero inspiration for something better). Or maybe it's just because my vocabulary sucks since I don't read books at all, at least that's what my older sister says and older sisters always know the best. 🥰
Today I decided to share with you some random food I was eating these days. Everything was sooo tasty, trust my word and trust your eyes, hihi.

These what you are looking at are "ovčije sarmice" (sheep sarma roll). Made from sheep offal, mostly liver and some other parts… honestly, I'm not even sure what exactly. Everything is nicely fried, seasoned with spices, carrots, and a bit of onion, then mashed and mixed together with a few eggs and wrapped in "ovčija maramica" (Caul Fat in english (?) not sure about that either). Anyway, if you don't have enough maramica, you can use thin pastry sheets instead, like you can see in the picture. Then it's all baked together and voila.
It tastes sooo good and it is full of vitamin B12. Only true food lovers in Serbia enjoy these kinds of dishes, while others usually freak out and cover their noses. Weaklings, hihi.

Turkish coffee and soup with semolina dumplings, what a mix, just imagine. I knooow, I know it's not an everyday thing to cook both at the same time and then rush and burn your tongue with the soup just so the coffee doesn't get cold, but that's how it happened. They should totally make this a 2in1 order in cafés for these cold days, perfect combo. There you go, a business idea. 😁

Speaking of soupy things, here's another one —> "kapama čorba". Smoked meat, "zelje" greens or chard, a bit of potato, a bit of carrot, all cooked, seasoned, hottttt and of course a glass of well chilled yogurt. Beeeecause balance is important. :)

Oh and this, guysss, this was a real feast! My dad celebrated his 56th birthday ❤️ on Friday and made a proper Balkan-style family lunch — "roštilj"! Skewers, pork neck steaks and stuffed pljeskavice, something like burgers but filled with bacon and kachkaval cheese. You can see the cross-section on the second photo from my plate, how perfect it looks, all those layers like someone painted them there.
I'm not usually a fan of ground meat or dishes made from it, but the way my dad makes these something really special. And that white thing on top is a sauce made of sour cream, little mayo, black pepper, parsley and ofc garlic. Garlic is the Queen of all meals! Yummy!😍

Aaaand something sweet to finish this blog. Not homemade, just a store-bought Turkish sweet from the brand Elvan, called Today Snowball looking sooo nice and tastes even better. There are different kinds and I usually take it from our own store [I like to say steal .. which makes it even sweeter xD]. Are you a fan of store-bought sweets? I try not to eat them too often, actually I really cut down, but I still treat myself sometimes. 🥰
