I like many things about my city, but especially the food here is very delicious. One of those is rice and chicken Qorma. This dish is not only liked by me, but most people of our city like it a lot.

Almost in many events and functions this food is prepared to serve the guests, its more common food but is considered as special and respectful dish. There are many ways to cook this food which every region makes it according to their culture and tradition.

In every small or big gathering, guest event or special day, this is surely made. In our home, whenever any special guest comes, then rice and chicken qorma are definitely in the menu. Without this the menu is incomplete and it is also believed that if this dish is not served, then it feels like the guests were not given proper respect.

Also this dish is not much expensive, 1KG Basmati Rice is Rs400 which is equal to $1.3 and the Chicken 1KG is Rs580 which is equal to $2.1. Also there are other ingredients like tomatoes, garlic, coriander, green chili, Chicken Qorma masala, potatoes which makes around $2.

For around 5-6 people there will be cost of around $6.5 which is good enough. Also according to its taste it is much worthy. It was much cheaper around 2-3 years ago but because of high inflation the rates have increased.


The taste of chicken qorma is very amazing, and when it is eaten with hot rice, the fun becomes double. Today in our house, the same dish is made. I thought why not take a picture of every step and share it with all of you, so that you also enjoy this delicious food.

The method of making this food is easy, but it needs a little patience. First, the chicken is cooked well in spices like ginger, garlic, red chili, turmeric, coriander, and garam masala.

Then yogurt and fried onions (optional) are added in it. On low heat, when all these spices mix well in the chicken, then a smell comes out that spreads in the whole house.


On the other side, rice is boiled. Some people like simple rice, and some like to make zarda or mutanjan with it too. But I like chicken qorma the most with simple cumin rice. Its simple is much better but I have also seen in some places that the rice is made in colorful ways.

Zarda colors are added and also there are sugars added in the rice to keep it little sweet. But I like it as simple as it is because the taste which is in simplicity is much better. But another thing is that Chicken Qorma must be spicy and more ingredients to be added, this will make it more tasty.

This food is not only tasty, but also a part of hospitality. Whenever we want to give respect to any guest, we serve them this delicious food.
