We often want to break out of our routines because things can get repetitive year after year, and as for the Christmas gatherings and celebrations of my training group, we've always held them at the same house. It's only natural that at some point we made a change, since being the host, cleaning up before and after each celebration can be tedious. That's why this year they organized things differently and decided to hold Vida's Christmas dinner at a restaurant in El Tigre.
I hadn't been there before; it was my first time. The place is designed to serve the general public on the ground floor, but it also has private party rooms in a three-story building, if I'm not mistaken. We were seated on the top floor, and there was a party going on on the floor below. I confess that if they hadn't opened the door, you couldn't hear a thing outside.
The room where we celebrated our Christmas dinner was beautifully decorated with Christmas ornaments, long tables with comfortable furniture, and chairs at the far end of the tables. A bar for drinks, a table for gifts, and the attentive staff were on hand to serve every detail, every drink, and of course, the dinner, which consisted of our country's traditional Christmas dish.
There were almost 30 of us there. The tables had very delicate centerpieces and the respective trays that went under the plates. When the dinner arrived, everyone was truly delighted because each course was as delicious as the next.
It included the traditional pork hallaca, the ham bread that we all praised for its flavor and generous filling, the very tasty chicken salad, and a black roast that I've rarely had, but which had a very special taste.
The dessert was a slice of black cake with meringue and nuts on top, and finally, we toasted with a very smooth red wine. The evening was wonderful, and we loved the place; it was very comfortable and air-conditioned.

Muchas veces queremos salir de lo acostumbrado porque quizás resulta repetitivo cada año, y en cuanto a las reuniones y festejos navideños de mi grupo de entrenamiento, siempre los hemos hecho en una casa puntual. Es natural que en algún momento se hiciera un cambio, ya que a veces resulta fastidioso ser el anfitrión, ordenar y reordenar antes y después de cada festejo, por eso este año se organizaron diferente y tomaron la decisión de realizar la cena navideña de Vida, en un restaurante de El Tigre.
Yo no lo conocía, primera vez que voy. El lugar está diseñado para atender al público en general en la planta baja, pero también tiene salones de fiesta privados en una estructura de tres pisos, si no me equivoco. A nosotros nos tocó el más alto, y en el piso que estaba debajo, había una fiesta. Les confieso que si no abrían la puerta, no se escuchaba absolutamente nada afuera.
El salón donde celebramos nuestra cena navideña, estaba hermosamente decorado con adornos navideños, tenía mesas largas con muebles cómodos, y sillas del otro extremo de las mesas. Una barra para colocar las bebidas, una mesa para los regalos, y las personas que atendían, muy atentos, estaban pendientes de servir cada detalle, cada bebida, y por supuesto, la cena que consistía en el plato navideño tradicional de nuestro país.
Éramos casi 30 personas en el lugar, las mesas tenían centros de mesa muy delicados, y las respectivas bandejas que iban debajo del plato. Al traer la cena, realmente todos quedaron muy complacidos porque cada contorno estaba tan delicioso como el otro.
Tenía la tradicional hallaca de cochino, el pan de jamón que todos lo elogiamos por su sabor y por estar bien relleno, la ensalada de gallina muy sabrosa, y un asado negro que pocas veces he comido, pero que tenía un gusto muy especial.
El postre consistía en una porción de torta negra con merengue y frutos secos encima, y finalmente, hicimos el brindis con un vino tinto muy suave. La velada fue maravillosa, y el lugar nos encantó, muy cómodo y con aire acondicionado.
