Cronot or Donut?

in Photographyyesterday

Hello Hello Hivians, fellow Hive photographers, Friendlymoose Photo Contest and #FPC enthusiasts!

Chocolate Food and Fun, what a combination, well that is what we have in store today!

This week's theme in the Friendlymoose Photo Contest from @friendlymoose is "SWEETNESS" and you can check the contest post here.

For my entry, I've chosen a shot which has me eaten something I never even fluffing knew existed!

Cronut or Donut/Doughnut?

Do you know what a Cronut is and can you tell which one is which?

Not content with wondering if it is Doughnut the correct spelling in the UK or Donut the American spelling we now have a fluffing Cronut thrown into the mix...

I have to confess I fluffing loved this cronut!

A Cronut is a popular and trademarked pastry that is a hybrid between a croissant and a doughnut.

A cronut is a portmanteau (a blend of words) of "croissant" and "doughnut."

If you knew what a cronut was, did you know what portmanteau meant? I am sure some of you wordsmiths know it!

I am a huge fan of croissants and anything butter so it is no surprise that I loved this!

It is made from a laminated dough, which is similar to a croissant—meaning it has many buttery, flaky layers.

So there we have it, Cronut, Donut or even Doughnut, what's your preference?

That thing looks awesome! Now I want one! I don't think they make them anywhere around here though! lol

I did find out it was created and trademarked in 2013 by the French pastry chef Dominique Ansel at his bakery in New York City.

But if you see one, eat it lol! Seriously was so tasty!

I'm used to donut than doughnut, but I think the latter is the right one. Still donut is much easier to spell hahaha. And now cronut? That sounds masarap, just with the name and the appearance of the inside of it, i can already tell that it is some kind of croissant. Let me have some of that pwease 🤤✨

I will go for a Cronut (l love exploring), and your description of buttered layers sounds good to me. 😍😋😋

Man... i just learned something too and it got me craving for a piece of it. Since it is trademarked, i'll probably going to make one myself. Not sure when but i'll get you an invite to come over and have breakfast with us. (not before next year, since the kitchen planning is quite full for the rest of this year already) :smirk:

Is that the one from Lidl? They are good

LOL thought you might have chosen a fried mars bar!!

Hehehe, I always have two whenever I pass on the store selling it😛. It's all a donut to me😌😌
All pictures are nice😁

Although I'm not a fan of sweet things, I do love crunchy stuff!! I adore puff pastry. Here they make a 'milhojas' which is delightful and some empanadas filled with ricotta, almond, and honey. You've made me crave it! A hug wrapped in puff pastry.
