Today's mission is to conquer my regular, beloved restaurant, and let me tell you, just the thought of the aroma makes my stomach rumble! But the big, big problem is... what on earth should I choose? Every single dish is so incredibly tempting, I just can't decide which battle to pick first!
Just imagine this, folks! "Tam Thua" (Spicy Long Bean Salad), that zesty, flavorful goodness of crunchy long beans tossed with fragrant, savory fermented fish sauce, and a satisfying kick of chili. Eating it with hot sticky rice? Pure heaven! Or should I swerve towards "Tam Pu Plara" (Spicy Papaya Salad with Salted Crab and Fermented Fish Sauce)? Those salty, umami-packed field crabs, their sweet meat mixed with crispy papaya strands and that killer fermented fish sauce dressing. Every slurp of the sauce is an explosion of "oomph"!
But wait! For those who aren't fans of fermented fish sauce, there's "Tom Haeng" (Dry-Braised Pork). Imagine pork belly braised until it's so tender it practically melts in your mouth, tossed with a rich, intense seasoning, fragrant with the "three buddies" (coriander root, garlic, pepper), and generously topped with crispy fried garlic! Just picturing it makes my mouth water, doesn't it?
And that's not all, folks! For the meat lovers, the grill enthusiasts, you absolutely have to consider "Nam Tok Moo" (Spicy Grilled Pork Salad). Fragrantly grilled pork, tender and juicy, tossed with aromatic toasted rice powder, a perfectly spicy chili powder, and a squeeze of lime. Oh my! The flavors are just so perfectly balanced!
And then we come to the final option that has me scratching my head! "Koi Nuea" (Spicy Raw Beef Salad). Fresh, finely minced raw beef, mixed with fragrant herbs, toasted rice powder, chili powder, bitter bile for that authentic kick, and a squeeze of lime for a zesty tang! For the adventurous souls who love freshness and bold flavors, this is a dish you simply cannot miss!
Oh dear! I really can't choose, everyone! Each dish is a star in its own right! Let's just say "Sakon" needs a moment to meditate in front of the restaurant for a bit, and I'll report back on which dish ultimately wins this culinary showdown! "สากล" นักชิมพเนจรคนเดิมกลับมารายงานตัวแล้วครับผม! วันนี้ภารกิจของเราคือการตะลุยร้านประจำเจ้าเก่า ที่บอกเลยว่าแค่คิดถึงกลิ่นก็ท้องร้องโครกครากแล้ว! แต่ปัญหาใหญ่หลวงมันอยู่ที่ว่า...จะเลือกอะไรดีล่ะครับพี่น้อง! แต่ละเมนูมันช่างยั่วยวนใจเหลือเกิน จนเลือกไม่ถูกเลยว่าจะเปิดศึกกับจานไหนก่อนดี!
คิดดูสิครับทุกคน! ตำถั่ว รสแซ่บนัว ถั่วฝักยาวกรอบๆ คลุกเคล้ากับน้ำปลาร้าหอมนัว พริกเผ็ดร้อนสะใจ กินแกล้มกับข้าวเหนียวร้อนๆ นี่มันสวรรค์ชัดๆ! หรือจะเบนเข็มไปที่ ตำปูปลาร้า ปูนาดองเค็มๆ นัวๆ เนื้อปูหวานๆ คลุกเคล้ากับเส้นมะละกอกรอบๆ และน้ำปลาร้ารสเด็ด ซดน้ำแต่ละทีนี่ซี๊ดซ๊าดถึงใจ!
แต่เดี๋ยวก่อน! ถ้าใครไม่ใช่สายปลาร้า ก็ยังมี ต้มแห้ง หมูตุ๋นเปื่อยนุ่มจนแทบละลายในปาก คลุกเคล้ากับเครื่องปรุงรสเข้มข้น หอมกลิ่นสามเกลอ กระเทียมเจียวกรอบๆ โรยหน้ามาแบบจัดเต็ม! แค่คิดภาพตามก็น้ำลายสอแล้วใช่ไหมล่ะครับ?
ยังไม่หมดแค่นั้นนะครับ! สำหรับสายเนื้อ สายย่าง ต้องนี่เลย น้ำตกหมู หมูย่างหอมๆ เนื้อนุ่มชุ่มฉ่ำ คลุกเคล้ากับข้าวคั่วหอมๆ พริกป่นเผ็ดกำลังดี บีบมะนาวลงไปหน่อย โอ้โห! รสชาติมันกลมกล่อมลงตัวสุดๆ!
และแล้วก็มาถึงตัวเลือกสุดท้ายที่ทำให้ผมต้องกุมขมับ! ก้อยเนื้อ เนื้อวัวดิบสดๆ สับละเอียด คลุกเคล้ากับเครื่องสมุนไพรหอมๆ ทั้งข้าวคั่ว พริกป่น ดีวัวขมๆ บีบมะนาวเพิ่มความเปรี้ยวจี๊ดจ๊าด! สำหรับสายแข็งที่ชอบความสดใหม่และความจัดจ้าน นี่คือเมนูที่พลาดไม่ได้!
โอ๊ยยยย! เลือกไม่ได้จริงๆ ครับทุกคน! แต่ละเมนูมันเด็ดดวงพวงมาลัยมากๆ เอาเป็นว่าวันนี้ "สากล" ขอตัวไปนั่งทำสมาธิหน้าร้านสักครู่ แล้วจะกลับมารายงานผลว่าสุดท้ายแล้วศึกนี้จะจบลงที่จานไหน! หรือ...อาจจะต้องสั่งทั้งหมดเลยดีนะ? ฮ่าๆๆๆ แล้วเจอกันครับ!
