Hello everyone
This morning, I woke up with a strong desire to make merit at a temple. Lately, I’ve found myself visiting temples more often — perhaps because I’ve been searching for something to help bring peace to my heart. This year has been especially difficult for my family, with health issues affecting both my mother and my husband. 🕊️
Sometimes, we just need something spiritual to hold on to — a quiet space to center ourselves. Around 9:00 AM, I set out with my younger son and headed to Wat Kamala, a temple that always brings me peace. Yes, there are many temples in Phuket, but this one, although farther from home, feels right for me. It took us about 40 minutes to drive there, but arriving at Wat Kamala always fills me with calm. 🚗🛕
When we arrived at Wat Kamala, the atmosphere inside the temple grounds was peaceful and quiet. There was a gentle stillness that seemed to settle not just around us, but also within us. 🌿
That kind of silence has a way of soothing the heart, especially on days when you need it most.
We walked into the sala (temple hall) carrying our offerings — bottles of drinking water, some snacks, milk, and various daily essentials for the monks. 🧺🥛🍘
We placed everything neatly onto a tray and set it near the large main Buddha statue at the center of the hall, ready to offer it respectfully to the monks as part of our merit-making. 🙏
After the chanting ended, my son and husband stepped forward together to present our offerings to the monks. 🙏👨👦
It was a quiet, meaningful moment — one of those simple acts that leaves your heart feeling just a little lighter.
After making merit, I felt incredibly refreshed and uplifted. There’s something about giving with intention that truly lightens the heart. 🌞🕊️
From the temple, we headed to Nakarin Cafe & Restaurant, one of our favorite spots for lunch. It’s located in the Kathu area, not far from Prince of Songkla University Phuket Campus, and it happened to be perfectly along the way back home. 🚗🍽️
At Nakarin Cafe & Restaurant, the menu was full of tempting choices — from Western dishes to fusion Thai cuisine. Everything looked so delicious that we honestly didn’t know what to choose first! 🤤📖
In the end, we ordered a table full of food. Every dish looked amazing… and to be honest, we were all really hungry! 🍽️😋
After a meaningful morning and a satisfying lunch, I felt truly grateful. It wasn’t a big or fancy day, but it was filled with the kind of peace and togetherness that I value most. 💛
Making merit at Wat Kamala reminded me of the importance of slowing down and reconnecting with the present moment. And sharing a delicious meal with my family was the perfect way to wrap up the day. 🕊️🍛
If you ever find yourself in Phuket, I highly recommend visiting Wat Kamala for a moment of spiritual calm — and treating yourself to a good lunch at Nakarin afterward. 😄
Thank you for reading and spending a bit of your day with me. Wishing you moments of peace, joy, and warm meals with people you love. 🌸✨
Thank you for your support
