One of the reasons I travelled very early to the village for the Christmas celebration, compared to the date I usually travel, was to have maximum relaxation, especially when it comes to eating food, without racking my brain about what to eat and how to gather money to prepare food. Although the money I spent there was huge and could have covered a lot of food for me if I had not travelled, I needed to be with family. You know the troubles of deciding what to cook and the struggle of keeping food in good taste for three days without the use of a refrigerator because there is no electricity.

My experience in the village was enjoyable. It was all about sleeping, waking up, walking to the kitchen, and eating to satisfaction without having pity on the girls who were cooking, even though they had to keep entering the kitchen from time to time to prepare food to sustain everyone in the house.
On the fourth day, when I returned to base, I managed to stay clear of the kitchen on the day I arrived in town, but the next day, I could not keep off because I am not the type that depends on buying cooked food. I prefer to make my own meals, which saves me money since I have everything at home.
That Monday was hell for me. I stood in the kitchen for about ten minutes, checking and touching everything, thinking about how to resume the bachelor’s life of cooking like a lady. I just wished I had married already so someone would be doing the cooking for me. One of my challenges that day was thinking about how to cook just one simple meal that would last for a day without giving me the need to warm it the next day so as to preserve the taste. However, cooking that way would mean cooking every day. Gosh! My brain almost knocked.
After a series of thoughts, I simply went back to my normal way of life, which is cooking and warming the food the next day until I get tired of the meal, either the next day or three days later, when I will throw the food away if it is no longer tasty.
