I was in town a bit early for the group ride, my first group ride. I waited a little then got my bike out and got ready. The others showed up shortly and soon I was introducing myself to everyone. I had a couple fumbles to begin with but was then able to keep up with the 9 other riders quite well. I had missed getting my Edge started on the Road Ride and instead had it on indoor so there was no GPS. I finally figured it out after over 6 miles and started the correct activity.
It was a killer sunrise view as we road east on Peone. I found it rather fun to be riding in the group and sort of marveled to myself of how easy it was to keep my wheel within a foot of the other wheels. All my riding has been mostly solo so this was quite the new experience.
After returning to the coffee shop 7 of us wanted more miles so off we went. I found myself able to keep up still and only faded slightly on the hills where others were stronger climbers. People dropped off to go home as we made the loop and by the time we got back to the coffee shop there was 3 of us.

I really like the 5:30am start for the ride and am going to make it a pretty regular occurrence.
Nearly 18 mph average is awesome and it did not ever really feel like I was having to push. There were times I was not pedaling and rolling with the group easily without loosing spacing.
Back home and mid morning I was around the garden and pulled a few cucumbers from the greenhouse.

Mid day I went for a wander up the hill to check the fence line and see how dry everything is.

HOLY OWL BARF BATMAN! The owls have really moved back in now that the eagle has fledged and the parents are no longer in the nest. I found a big pile of owl hork clumps all around the upper pen beneath bare perching branches.

They varied in size a lot and some are for sure Great Horned Owl hork just judging by size. It would take a big throat to pass some of them. Others were rather small and very likely other types of owls. I hauled them down to the house and added them to the pile I have collected prior. Maybe one of the boys teachers this year will want them for a class "dissection".

I was working on cleaning more under the carport and looked up to see the Fly Catcher scowling at me from its nest.

Some more tobacco leaves harvested from the plants in the greenhouse that got laid out to dry in the garden shed. I also bagged the ones that are already dried.

Another tomato was near ripe from the greenhouse as well mid afternoon. For dinner I cooked bison steaks on the Blackstone and we had more potatoes that I had dug from the garden and cucumbers from the greenhouse.

Today I will be going to haul off the branch that I cut up at my client's early then we have our friend's boys' birthday party mid day then another birthday party after. It is a red flag day and is to be high fire danger with the winds gusting later. At least we aren't in the prospective "preemptive power outage" areas that are all around us.

This was my 8th week this year of 100+ miles. I'm over 2/3 of the way to my goal which I should easily reach this year, hopefully before October. If anything I have my trainer which I can use on shitty riding weather days.
