Lots and lots of UTube on growing.

I suggest starting by growing in containers, (unless your summers are Very hot.) and using bagged potting soil. Then plant your seeds and see what comes up.

You look up seeds based on your climate zone
https://planthardiness.ars.usda.gov/pages/map-downloads

After you got your climate zone, then you go to a seed store like:
https://www.burpee.com/vegetables/

and choose varieties that grow well in your climate.

We do have hot summers, but so does México. They grow a ton of produce. I’m sure something will grow.

I mean, in pots. In very hot climates, having the plant in the ground gives it more access to water, and less surface area to heat and dry out (the pot captures heat too)

But, on the other hand, you can grow, in pots, really early in the year, and late in the year. And if a frost is coming, you can pull them inside for the night.
