I can't believe it's weekend again. Street food right? When I was younger, I used to like this street food we call jolo. Jolo is a kind of fatty part of meat, usually Cooked in stew and served hot with white rice.
I remember saving up from Monday to Friday so I could get to enjoy this food with my friends by close of school on Friday.
I hardly eat out now but when I have to, I like to eat roasted yam, oily fried stew and ponmo. That combo is a good life saver since nineteen ninty ten.

@ozd. @justfavour @fashtioluwa come and tell us about your favorite street food

The fatty part of meat, the part the call Tozo, that's the part I like 😁

The way you describe this your Jolo , it asound like a sweet food ooh, I haven't tasted or heard of it before now.

My friends introduced me to it during my junior high school year in Ibadan at that time. See henn, when you finish eating eat you must not drink water because the fat will gum in every part of your mouth sha

Happy weekend, Elizzy. This is my first time hearing about jolo. But your comment shows that it was very enjoyable, for you to have been saving to get it after school on Fridays.

I like fat in meat though, so maybe I might like this too.

Hummm it was a yummy experience for me back then.

That's lovely to hear. I also don't eat out as much as I used to o. I think that's adulthood for some of us.

I think so too because each time I try to eat out, once I take a look at the surrounding of the canteen and it's not looking pleasant like this, the hunger will just vanish

Exactly. A lot of places don't practice good hygiene, so trusting them with your stomach might just be a death trap. Still, it's a pity that such places are where the larger number of Nigerians can afford.

Sadly

Sabi girl

You named the best ones 👌🏾

Happy weekend my naija people oo

I like bole a lot. That’s what I buy most evenings when I don’t have any appetite to eat food.
I’ve never tasted abacha before. Even though my siblings and friends love it, I just can’t get myself to eat it. I don’t know why 😂.

Ahh..babe. Abeg go eat Abacha and share the testimony

I haven't really been a fan of Abacha.

Happy Weekend Vabilla 🍦

Yo people it good been back here

My favorite street food is eating suya at night with indomie

Oh, I got introduced to this last year, and even though suya is not a healthy street food, I enjoyed eating it with noodles I made myself.

10/10 combo. I highly recommend it.

Chai u sing my redeeem

It's the weekend again!

Happy weekend everyone. How's y’all weekend going?

Hi Dave, happy weekend to you too! My weekend is going just fine. I had a boring day, but I was able to accomplish a few things. How about yours, how's it going

Hello Yechee, thank you. Ohh, sorry about that. But it's good to hear you achieved something. My weekend is going just okay. Not much happening sha.

Oh, thank you too. No issues. Hopefully, yours ends well. All the best!🤗

Yeah. You too 🙂

So, street food right. Have eaten a good number of them in this my life. Mostly, when I was younger.

I saved up or preferred to be given money to school so that I alongside my friends could buy some street food then. Those street food were the cravings of many. There was this spaghetti they made, and this other nice tasty snack from soya beans called awara and one called koskoro.

I don't really eat them now. I used to eat this yam and friend egg put together. It's a nice one. But if I'll say what's close to a street snack for me now, it would be a nice well cooked indomie and egg.

I've heard about awara a lot but I've never tried it. I don't even know what it looks like. I will check Google tonight for a photo of it and see if it's something I might like at irst sight.

I guess it's not common in your place. Well, it can be nice or not depending on how they make it. But it's a nice snack when it's done well. Alright Yechee, I await your feedback on that. 🙂

Oh, I've seen a few images of the Awara. It doesn't look bad at all. At first glance, it looks like yam cut into slices. But I read that it's made from soya bean. Interesting. I'm not a big fan of soya bean but who knows, i might still like it. So, looking forward to trying it someday.

And yeah, it's not common over here.

At first glance, it looks like yam cut into slices.

Yeah, it sure looks like such.
It's made from soya beans, yes. Too bad you aren't a fan of soya beans. Not really a fan too, but I take it if I want. Yes, you might like it. So, I await the feedback after that someday you eventually try it. 😁

I guessed so.

Alright! Until then.🤗

Yeah 🙂

Hello everyone, it's been awhile here

I don't have a favorite street food because it all depends on what I am craving at that moment, but there are some that have stood out that I am almost always craving.

Suya

There's this particular spot that is very good with suya; their pepper is just so different from others I have tasted, and the guys are so neat, there's almost no week I don't buy suya from them. This has also become one of my daughter's favorite street foods also

Masa

I mostly gets this on Saturday morning when I don't feel like preparing it myself or making breakfast. There's a particular woman that just knows how to make it to my taste. I am now her customer.

Abasha and roasted plantain with sauce made with good palm oil—I hardly get this around where I stay, so anytime I come across a good one, I don't let it pass me by.

Hearing about Abasa for the first time though,I also like Suya, that's one unique street food.

Thanks for sharing

Happy weekend everyone in hive.

Helloo, happy weekend

Thank you and you too.

Happy weekend, everyone! I'm happy to meet you all again in the comments to discuss our topic of the week.

For me, one of my favourite street foods is Bole and fish. I don't mean "boli" asin groundnut and plantain o. That is the poor photocopy.(Don't come for me, please!🙂) I mean, bole asin roasted ripe plantain, fish, pepper sauce, and utazi. This is arguably one of the best street foods in Nigeria, and I can defend it any day. The taste is heavenly! Then, when you add roasted yam or potatoes to the mix? You're already in heaven! I recommend it to anyone looking to try local street foods when they travel to the south.

My second favourite street snack is gala, as we normally call it. And I mean, the old gala with the red pack. Why I love it? You can eat it with almost anything. I eat gala with beverage, ice-cream, soft drinks, fruit juices, etc. It's just one of those snacks that's irresistible. If you don't like gala, you might be bad vibes.😂

Lastly, the street food I wouldn't love to try is Ewa Agoyin. I think the excess oil is already off-putting, so I just have a closed mind around it. Maybe something will change in the future or maybe not.🙂
@soma18, What are your thoughts on this topic?

Chop life geng

You really know how to enjoy yourself o

I honestly do! All I hope for is to be financially stable to afford both my needs and my wants, including perishable foods.😂 Happy weekend to you. What's your favourite?

Yeahh, shey you gett. Having money to afford those edibles.

Happy Weekend yechee 🫂

I don't really like street food.
But I grew up loving bole.

Oh and I like suya too

I'm boring with food
Forgive me, loll

It's okay if you don't like having street food. Honestly, I think it's safer not to. But if you can prepare it at home, great!

I'm glad you like bole. It means you've got a nice taste.🙂 I love suya as well, but I've tried to reduce my level of consumption since I found out it's not really healthy. I also don't think you're boring with food. I just believe you haven't tried enough!

Yeah, you're right

I haven't actually tried enough food
I'm too rigid with what I eat.

I can tell. Well, I hope you become more open to trying out food from other regions, especially.

Yeah, I'm keen on that

Maybe you'll take me to get the best street delicacies

Thinking of it now.
I remember you. You left a thoughtful message in my internship Experience post.

Yes, you remember. Took you a minute, though.🙂 I think I remembered you the very first time I interacted with you and followed you. So your name just stuck.

🫂

It's your picture that stuck actually
I remembered checking your profile

Beauty 💖

Haha. Thanks! Have a lovely weekend, Ola.💕

Sure, you too Yechee ❤️

Happy weekend to you as well. How's it going over there?

Damnnnnnnnnnn... You successfully bursted my brain. That's indeed a street food perfect to serve as one's favourite. I wasn't expecting to see utazi among the ingredients though 🤔.
Either way, I'm already salivating at the thought of it.

But I'm not really a fan of street food. Snacks are just okay but when it comes to meals, I tend to stick to homemade.

I equally love gala as well. The exact one you described, lol and also the super bite product.

My weekend is going just fine. It started out boring, though, but I'm sure tomorrow will be better.
I know why you didn't expect to see utazi.😂 I also hated it too, but for a while now, I've noticed how nice it is when added to bole. Don't worry, you might get here someday, and you'll start enjoying it. Lol.

Super bite. This was my second favourite. I'm so glad to know you enjoy it too. How did your day go?

Mine started out busily but that equally means that it will end stress-free. Just like I want 😉.

Utazi is one bitter veggie I know but then again, when balanced and garnished pretty well, it's likely to switch to the opposite. Can't wait to have a taste.

My day was quite productive. A lot more than I had planned out but smooth 🙂.

Nice! I hope it ended with you hugging your bed o. You deserve all the rest you can get.

I hope you get to try out bole with the utazi sometime soon, seeing that you're not close-minded. I'm happy your day was productive. I hope you have a lovely weekend.🤗

Oh trust me it did 😜

I hope so too ..... Thank you and you too 🥰.

Where are the Bread and Akara Geng😎😎

I have never heard of Amara in my life
🫠

Omo,, na typo,
I wanted to write Akara, corrected✅

Ohh 😹
Okay, noted

I don't eat a of street food but the ones I have eaten and enjoyed is those puff puff. It tends to be sweater when it's sold inside newspaper.

I also like suya.
And those indomie and egg. 🍜

This! Lol. I remember buying puff puff and doughnut from school, and it was usually sold with newspapers. Very nice stuff.

The good old days

Hehehehehe do I have a fav go-to street snacks sha? Anything goes o
If I see Soft boli, e dey go
If I see super bite, e dey go
If I see hot puff-puff, e dey plum
If I see American Cola, e dey plum

But one snacks I won't just buy in the street just like that no matter how hungry souls my tapeworms are is AKARA. Make nobody con initiate me enter anything abeg.

The last time a friend of mine and I made that decision was when she went to get Akara and she caught the woman's lips moving silently with her thumb in the Akara and pretending to be wrapping it well.
Abeg ooooooo if I wish to eat Akara I go fry am myself
@techsolution @sammywrite I hope you don't mind joining us here.... What's your favorite street snacks? 🤤🤗

See Enjoyment full for your side like this,
For boli, I love it a little burnt, I will not step it down with Coca Cola
Super bite too with chilled Tropical fruits pack✍️🥺👌❤️

The last time a friend of mine and I made that decision was when she went to get Akara and she caught the woman's lips moving silently with her thumb in the Akara and pretending to be wrapping it well.

This got me scared. I got to know about this when I relocated to Akure. I stopped buying and started making it myself whenever I feel like eating it.

Nothing can separate my love for bole...na my go to any day anytime. 😁

I Stopped eating street akara a few years ago but you see kunu, hmm! Na one street food I no go ever go close to, make I no throw up and cause public embarrassment.

Alot of street food ooo,
Wara ,kokoro, roasted corn, suya, boli and EPA

IMG_20251128_192838_499.jpg
Still ate boli and EPA yesterday evening while working.
Street foods are life saver oo
@goldenproject @afrikens @quduus1 @empressjay
Which ones can you relate to?
