What's up, Hivers! It's me @makiyumee and I am back with another blog to share! For today's blog, it will be about how my mother and I, along with my younger sister, went to visit Basilica in Cebu and how we also went to surprise my aunt with our unexpected visit.
Every January, my family and I always go to Cebu and visit Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu. We always offer our prayers to Santo Niño de Cebu every Sinulog and after that we would attend the 10 o'clock mass if ever we arrived on time. But this time, we arrived late on the church and missed the mass so after we visited the Balaang Bata, my mother decided that we should give her cousin which was my aunt, a surprise visit.

After giving my aunt a call, she happily greeted us when we arrived in front of her office. We exchanged warm greetings before we entered her office to settle down. Her office was not big, it was just right and also very warm welcoming. There were large frames and plants on each corner that gave her office a touch that belong to her style. It was my first time in her office and I really liked it.

It did not take long for us to engage in a very deep conversation with my aunt. She told us these gossips, rumors and even stories about her childhood with my mother. My younger sister and I happily listened to her and my mother as they exchanged stories about how they would climb mango trees back with they were young, sometimes play on the rice fields and even catch spiders together.

Work has made my aunt tired and exhausted and she was very glad that my mother decided to stop by and check on her. She shared to us how she would sometimes sleep till late because she needed to finish some important papers. She can't sleep when there were a lot of work remaining to do and I can really relate to this. Back when I was in college, I also cannot sleep when I know that there are still a lot of work to do.

My mother told my aunt to always prioritize her health because we cannot buy body parts in the market and medicines are not always there to support us and if she always takes medicines, her body might become immune to it. As their conversation got deeper, my aunt offered us some soda drinks and cakes. My younger sister and I were so happy at the treats that she gave. I mean, who does not like cakes anyway?

While we each took a bite of the cake, my younger sister and I continued to listen to their conversation while our eyes were glued to the television. The movie playing just caught my eye and I was multitasking that time. It was until my mother announced that it was already time for us to go home or we might miss our bus. So my younger sister and I packed out things but my aunt was quick to offer that she would be treating us to dinner at Majestic, a new restaurant that she really liked.

So we took a cab to SM and my aunt guided us to where Majestic was. When we arrived at the restaurant, the waiters were really accommodating. They gave us their menu with smiles and even guided us to a vacant table near the window which was the place where my aunt usually sits. It seems to me that time that they really know what my aunt's preferences are.

We scanned their menu and ordered the food that we wanted to try. My aunt would also suggest what to try and since we were still new to the place, we listened to her suggestions. I ordered a plate of lemon chicken and fried rice while my sister chose Bam-I and more. After choosing, we told our orders to the waiter that was assigned to us and after that he left to deliver it to the chef.

We were later served with tea and bread which were in to varieties, one was steamed while the other was baked, if I remembered it correctly. We tried their tea and I was shocked at how bitter it was. Surely, tea was not for me but I still drank it since my aunt told me that it was healthy and that it was good for us. When our orders came, the waiters served it one by one and I was already feeling hungry at the sight of it.

The Bam-I was steaming and it was oozing with spices and vegetables. The fried rice also made me want get a bunch and take some back home. But what made me salivate the most was the lemon chicken that I ordered. The scent of the lemon was so pleasing and the chicken looks so crispy too. When everything was served, we began eating and I had to thank my aunt again and again because the food at Majestic was really delicious. Every bite was worth paying for.

It was around 6 pm when we finished eating and we had to pack the remaining foods inside the containers and paper bags because we had ordered a lot for just four people. There were still a lot of chicken and Bam-I left, my younger sister had to request more bags for the remaining fried rice too. When we finished packing, we gathered our things and left the restaurant with huge smiles and round tummies.
I thanked my aunt again for the very delicious dinner before she walked us to the bus terminal. We said out goodbyes to her, told her to always stay safe and take care of her health. We were also hoping that we could visit her again soon when we have the time. That would be all for today's blog! Thank you so much for staying and reading, I will see you all on the next one!
