Good day, everyone!! This is part 2 of my trip with my American cousin, so today I'm going to tell you about our travel to the north! So it started when our 2 aunties visited our nanay's home and said that if we wanted to have a girls day, of course, as an outgoing girl, I would love to come. Unfortunately my section's Christmas party was on that day too, so I was hesitant, but my auntie keeps telling me that it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bond with my cousin and that there's always next year for me to join my section's Christmas party. So I decided to accept their offer, and I figured that my auntie is right.
So me and my cousin Cate quickly packed some things, and we hurriedly hopped in the car because they said we would have a long drive. Our only agenda was to go to Banyan Spring because my 2 aunties run that place. They wanted to show it to my cousin, but after some talks in the car, they decided that we should first go to The Golden Sands Resort. They said we were just going to eat them, and if we have to, we can swim in the pool. In case I forgot to tell you, the location of the Golden Sands Resort is in Daan-Bantayan.
It was a long ride and kind of awkward because in the past I could only see these 2 aunties of mine in a gathering, and we're not that close. It was awkward when they asked what college course I picked and why. Of course, I was kind of insecure about it because I could feel in their tone that they belittled me, but I didn't mind it, and I just looked outside and put my ear pod's on so that I wouldn't hear anything they said.
We finally made it to The Resort after a few hours, and boy, did I realize it was a costly one. There was a line of cars ahead, but as soon as a worker spotted our car, he signaled for us to go through. They then claimed that they were already VIPs there and that they would often visit. That explains why, despite the fact that we were in the last line, the man let us pass first. After we parked our car our aunties asked us to accompany her to the cr incase anyone of us wants to go number 1 while the other auntie get us a table and a ticket. So we go the cr and their cr is so nice and aesthetic we took some photos and then we headed to the lounge area or waiting area for our tickets and we took some pictures in there too.
And there were a cute souvenir /necessity booth we looked around it for a bit they have everything that you might need incase you forgot to bring them you can buy in there shop.
After a short while we were called and they told us to hop on a cable car so that we can tour around the resort. It was so big that you will need a cable car to look around it on the road we could see the white sands, the man made lake it's so big and there are fish inside the lake too. The driver/ tour guide tells us that we could feed the fish with some bread especially julies bread because they love that one.
(My phone's camera cant justify how beautiful the view and the place was so just check there page its Golden Sands )Upon reaching the restaurant, our two aunts requested that the tour guide show us around the resort, and we complied. We shot a lot of pictures, and the resort is fantastic. You can kayak in the lake, feed fish or if you'd like, swim in the pool (which is located next to the lake) or the sea (which is just a short distance away).
After we took enough photos the tour guide dropped us off back to the restaurant where we are gonna eat lunch. The restaurant was near at the sea and also there's a pool beside it and we were sitting next to the sea. After telling our aunties about our tour the waiter give us the menu to choose from since our aunties already order their dish since they were hungry and couldn't wait for us. While looking at the menu i could see that there's a Filipino cousine and international cousine. Since my cousin decided to order a filipino styled spaghetti, I've decided to order a international food and that is a classic burger with fries on the side and we also get a fruit shake mine was mango and her's was pineapple. So we waited for our foods to arrived and i did not expect the serving to be a american serving cause it's so huge the burger i mean. Me and my cousin were shocked cause we didn't expect it and our aunties expect us to finish it all.
At first i was just chilling and gaslight myself that i could finish it all but that confidence disappeared in a few minutes where i was just eating a quarter half of the burger and im already full. Our auties were laughing at us since we both couldn't finish it all but my aunties suggest to me that i should just eat the meat. After we ate we decided to go to Banyan Spring since our aunties manage that spring and they wanted to show to Cate so we hop on the car and headed there. While we were sitting at the back of the car i asked my cousin if she have something to wear later when we go swimming and she said that she have and it's two piece well i was like im super sure that people would be looking at my cousin. Cause we all know that Filipinos are sensitive and they are gonna stare at foreigners like they're from another planet. So when we got there we headed straight to the cr since our 2 aunties are not gonna join us they are just looking after us and our things. So when i immediately see my cousin in two piece i was like girl you look so fine but she was conscious since people are already looking at her because she's foreigner she feels like if she would wear just the 2 Piece she thinks they are gonna stare hard and that would make her uncomfortable so she asked me if its okay with me if she could borrow my shorts and i said yes cause like i wanted her to have a good time. When we got out in the bathroom people was STARING like literally staring at us but we didn't care and we took photos to remember and after that my cousin convince me to jump with her and she wanted to try the 8 feet but i ain't a swimmer so we just settled at 5 feet.
We were having blast talking and having a heart to heart talk when our aunties called us and said that we should go and wash up and change since its time for us to go home. After we finished, we were hungry luckily there was a food in the car so we ate and we went home. When we arrived at our house we were exhausted and we said goodbye to our aunties and thanked them for the day and went inside and rest. So that's it!
