Mientras tanto, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un día de pollo, mucho pollo y piscina en uno de los clubes donde más nos reunimos: el patio de mi casa, que desde hace mucho tiempo se ha convertido en el club acuático de los más allegados. Quienes me siguen habrán notado algunas publicaciones sobre la piscina que tenemos en casa. Así que la sacamos al patio, la llenamos y ¡listo!, a divertirnos con los niños.

Meanwhile, today I want to share with you a day of chicken—lots of chicken—and swimming at one of our favorite hangouts: my backyard, which has long since become the water club for my closest friends and family. Those who follow me may have noticed some posts about the pool we have at home. So, we took it out to the backyard, filled it up, and voilà! Time to have fun with the kids.
Para esta ocasión decidimos, por antojo de las mujeres, preparar solo pollo, acompañado de chorizo y yuca. Fue una reunión casi improvisada. De repente alguien dijo: "¿Y si hacemos unos pollos, llenamos la piscina y pasamos el rato?", y eso bastó para poner en marcha la idea. No tuvimos que viajar, pagar pasajes ni hacer grandes planes, y la verdad es que la pasamos bastante bien.
For this occasion, at the women's request, we decided to prepare only chicken, accompanied by chorizo and yucca. It was a nearly impromptu gathering. Suddenly someone said, "What if we make some chicken, fill the pool, and hang out?" and that was enough to get the idea going. We didn't have to travel, pay for tickets, or make any big plans, and the truth is, we had a really good time.

Para tomar y refrescarnos un poco compramos unas cervezas mexicanas de esas que vienen en lata. La idea era simplemente compartir unas bebidas y conversar de cualquier ocurrencia, como solemos hacer los hombres cuando nos reunimos. A la reunión asistieron mi hermano, su esposa y sus dos hijos, es decir, mis sobrinos. También estuvo la cuñada de mi hermano con su esposo y otra pareja familiar de ellos. Lo más curioso fue que, en medio de la echadera de vaina, terminé poniéndole de apodo "Guiado" a uno de ellos, y así se quedó.
To drink and refresh ourselves a bit, we bought some Mexican beers, the kind that come in cans. The idea was simply to share some drinks and chat about whatever came to mind, like we men usually do when we get together. My brother, his wife, and their two children—my nephews—were there. My brother's sister-in-law and her husband were also there, along with another couple from their family. The funniest thing was that, in the middle of all the joking around, I ended up giving one of them the nickname "Guiado," and it stuck.
Nos reímos muchísimo recordando anécdotas de nuestra adolescencia, las épocas del bachillerato, los matines de aquellos años y las diferencias entre la crianza de antes y la de ahora. En fin, hablamos de todo un poco, siempre con un toque de humor y casi llegando al bullying, aunque, por suerte, todo queda entre familia. Por otro lado, mi hermosa Anthonella ya nos ha dejado claro que es una verdadera fanática de la piscina. Le encanta el agua y la disfruta como nadie, ¡y apenas tiene ocho meses! Qué bonito es poder compartir momentos como estos entre familia y amigos.
We laughed so much reminiscing about our teenage years, high school days, the matinees of those days, and the differences between raising children then and now. In short, we talked about a little bit of everything, always with a touch of humor and almost bordering on teasing, although, luckily, it all stayed within the family. On another note, my beautiful Anthonella has already made it clear that she's a true swimming pool fanatic. She loves the water and enjoys it like no one else, and she's only eight months old! How wonderful it is to be able to share moments like these with family and friends.
