Hello Hive Fam! 🌸 Most especially to my dear co-Filipino Hive blog writers, I hope this post finds you well. I know many of us are juggling personal struggles, responsibilities, and the daily grind, but I wanted to share a little story from my kitchen today that brought me comfort in the middle of stress.

For lunch, I decided to cook pork adobo, that classic Filipino dish we all know and love. Honestly, I wasn’t just cooking for the sake of eating; I was cooking to soothe my depressed and stressed self. The aroma of garlic, soy sauce, and vinegar simmering together felt like a hug I badly needed. After preparing the adobo, I transferred it to a bowl, and instead of wasting the flavorful bits left in the pan, I tossed in my leftover rice. The result? Adobo rice; simple, delicious, and surprisingly therapeutic.

Lately, I’ve been weighed down personally, emotionally, and financially. It feels like everything is piling up, and I don’t want to burden my family or friends with my struggles since they’re also dealing with their own problems. So, I turn to small comforts like cooking. It may not solve everything, but it gives me a moment of peace, a reminder that even in hardship, we can create something warm and nourishing for ourselves.

Thank you, Hive Fam, for reading my little story. Writing this down and sharing it with you already lightens my heart. 💙
