I was one of the Hivefest attendees that had a horrible & disappointing experience.
I apologize in advance for this long comment and any negativity it may reflect. This is not directed towards you or any of the Hivefest team.
I can not begin to list to you how many countless attempts to retrieve my badge. No less than 5+ hours over the 2 days of struggle, Reboots, settings changes, WiFi, Networking tweaks, relocating to another network, etc... (AltVR worked fine for me outside of the Hivefest portals)
To list It all would be too long of a comment.
My disappointment comes from making a contribution to a wall of fame that turned out to be this...
More like a cardboard sign of shame, leaning against a rock?
And to see ya'll divy up over 4k in Hive to the Hive festers that were able to enjoy... The badge, the tips, the virtual beers, the portals, the games, the events, and everything else that many Hivefest attendees could not. Well, That was kind of a slap in the face.
I am in no way trying to insult any Hive people for the horrible Microsloth Windblows AltVR platforms issues. I should have known better. This is a non Microsloth bloatware household since 2012 for many reasons. And this experience just confirmed that will never change.
Please forgive me if I wish to not vote or contribute to this in the future. But I also want to thank you for this post asking for feedback. I also understand that it is no fault of the organizers that put much time and effort into the event. I just wanted to share my experience, and wish it could have been better.
To leave out on a positive note, I did manage to get an hour or so of enjoyment near the end when the portals suddenly worked. I enjoyed the end of the fest with a game of trivia, a cruise thru the art gallery, I tried the photo room, and made it to the last couple speakers events.
Thanks Man!
