Hello everyone, its a beautiful Sunday evening. This post is basically to rant. I have to bare my mind. So this morning, I stepped out to buy some stuff for breakfast. Someone would say, hey joy you love food a lot. Yes I do. Food is me.LOl.

On my way back, I saw a woman selling African star apple. For this post please permit me to call it what we call it in Nigeria. Here in Nigeria,we call it udara... And its the season of Udara. We are blessed with lots of amazing fruits and udara is one of it. I love udara a lot. And when its in season, trust me to always have it at home. My husband loves it too. However, sometimes i buy sweet ones, other times i don't. Whenever i go out and see it, i must buy. My husband doesn't buy except he orders from the village. He says the ones from the village is sweeter and I agree with him too. I am yet to discover the trick in knowing how to identify the sweet ones. If you do, then you are a master. Its quite difficult getting to know which will be sweet by mere looking at it.
Back to my story. Before I bought from this woman, I asked her if it was sweet and she said yes with confidence. She said that I should have a taste. Honestly, it tasted good when I had a taste. She even went as far as saying that I would come back to look for her. I was happy that I had bought something good with my money. A friend had advised that I make sure to taste it first before buying. And I was glad I did it. To me, it worked.

When I got home, I washed them and sat down to enjoy myself. I opened the first one and discovered it was spoilt. I had to throw it away. The next one I took, I had to pause for a while and really understand what I was eating. Is this not from the same woman that gave me the sweet udara to taste?I was wondering if it was bitter leaf I was taking or what?... I tasted another one and it was the same thing. I have been duped. My husband was laughing at me because he had told me what these sellers do Is give you the sweet ones to taste and give you the ones that are not sweet to take home. I was so disappointed. And to think that the lady was boasting about her udara.
I just packed the remaining ones and disposed of them. My money had gone. I have made up my mind to meet the woman whenever I go there. This is a fraudulent act. If she had not boasted about her udara, maybe I wouldn't have been this pained. Considering the fact that I had told my husband that I hit a jackpot on this purchase. She even added one which we call jara in our Nigerian colloquial.
Please if you know the trick to differentiate the sweet ones from the bitter leaf ones,I would be grateful to learn. Meanwhile, I am going back to that woman tomorrow to pour out my anger.
THANK YOU ALL FOR READING
SEE YOU ALL IN MY NEXT POST
