GOKANA RAMEN 🍜 Old Sister's Mission To Bring Young Sisters To Eat Gokana Ramen
Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you are all always healthy and happy, okay?!
So the story is, last Sunday I—the most patient older sister in the archipelago—took my three younger sisters with different personalities (and different tastes) to eat at Ramen Gokana. The location is in a mall, so it was also a feast for the eyes. But the main goal: to give them delicious food without making my wallet cry. 🫠
As soon as she saw the menu, the eldest immediately shouted, “Level 3, Sis! I want the spiciest one!” She ordered Spicy Ramen Level 3. I had given up on seeing her sweating like she had just jogged 5 km, and it was true. But she was very satisfied! She said the spiciness was intense, but still delicious. The soup is very thick, savory, the chicken broth tastes really good, and the toppings are quite a lot.
The second sibling is different again. She's on the "dry noodles are the best" team. So, she ordered the Dry Beef Ramen, and when it arrived, she literally smiled to herself. The chewy noodles made it melt, and the beef wasn't stingy. She said that this was the most delicious ramen she's ever tried that wasn't too "too Japanese", so it suited a local palate like hers.
Now, this is the real challenge. The youngest is really picky. But Gokana also has a bento menu, so she ordered Chicken Katsu Bento. When it arrived, she immediately said, "Sis, this is like eating in Japan!" (even though he's never been to Japan 😆). The filling is complete: white rice, crispy katsu, fresh salad, and egg. Plus point: this picky kid finished eating it all. That means he passed!
I personally ordered the Original Beef Ramen, just to be safe. The soup is light but tastes like beef broth, the meat is tender, and the portion is enough for adults who have to take care of three noisy younger siblings.
For me, this is really good for filling my stomach, the portion is just right, not stingy with toppings. Plus the price is still pocket-friendly (especially since there's a savings package!). The service is fast, the staff is patient (kudos because we're so crowded) and the place is cozy, suitable for families. But the spiciness might be too extreme for those who can't handle it. Advice: start from the low level first and if it's crowded, it can be a bit noisy. But that's because you brought a kid.
If you have a younger sibling or want to eat together but have different tastes, Ramen Gokana is a safe choice. It can be spicy, it can be creamy, it can be bento. Everyone is happy, the older sibling is calm. 🤗
