I want to share with you a good recipe of how I prepare meat for stewing with potatoes.
Beef stew with potatoes is a classic comfort food. It's grandma's cooking, with tender chunks of meat and soft potatoes slowly cooked in a delicious sauce. Simple, tasty and straight to the heart.
- 1/2 kilo of meat for stewing
- 3 large potatoes
- 2 sweet peppers
- 1/2 paprika
- scallion
- 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- salt to taste
- 1 pinch of ajinoto
Take to the kitchen a pot with water and salt, while it was heating,
proceed to wash the beef, and then cut it into medium squares, once cut, add it to the pot with water to cook until it softens.
On the other hand, wash the potatoes and proceed to peel, wash again and cut into medium squares.
Thank God the meat was fresh and in half an hour it was already tender, so I added the peeled and cut papaya, and then covered it for not too long.
Cooking is not difficult, the tedious part is the time it takes to cook, and in chopping both vegetables and greens, so I continue while the meat and potatoes are cooking, I chop all the dressings small.
The potatoes and meat were ready, so I added all the seasonings at once.
When I added the seasonings, I mixed it with a wooden spoon, covered it again and waited about five minutes and then added the seasonings, the ajinomoto, ground paprika and a small pinch of salt that was missing.
Once the seasonings are added, mix again so that all the ingredients are compacted.
Turn off the stove, cover the pot again and let the steam do its work for a few minutes, uncover and add a sauce based on vinegar, ketchup and soy sauce, mix again and finally add the reserved chives, cover and wait.
Final result and ready for tasting, at home we eat mostly chicken since my mom doesn't like red meat 🥩 most of the time she doesn't eat it, this was at the request of my brother hehehe who prepared it, but it was very good.
I bid you farewell hoping you liked this recipe. The photos are my own taken with my cell phone tecno spark 20C and the translator I used is deepl.
