Hello everyone! It's me again, as usual, because lately I've been cooking a lot at home, and today I have a recipe to share: Spicy Vermicelli Salad with Minced Mackerel. This is another dish I'm proud of because it's incredibly easy to make. Since the fish already contains tomato sauce and spices, you don't need to add much extra seasoning. However, there are other ingredients I want to highlight for an even spicier and more flavorful dish. Let's look at the ingredients and how to make it.

Ingredients

  • One can of minced mackerel
  • 200 grams of boiled vermicelli noodles
  • One teaspoon of chili powder
  • One teaspoon of fish sauce
  • One teaspoon of fermented fish sauce
  • One teaspoon of lemon or lime juice
  • One shallot

Instructions

  • Boil the dried vermicelli noodles in hot water until they are soft and chewy. Then rinse and set aside.

  • Mix all the ingredients together. Add the minced mackerel. Combine shallots, fish sauce, fermented fish sauce, seasoning powder, and lime juice. Mix until you achieve your desired taste. At this stage, you can adjust the flavors as you like. If you prefer it spicier, you can add chili powder; if you prefer a more sour and salty taste, you can add more seasonings.

  • Next, toss the reserved noodles with the prepared seasoning mixture. Mix well with the noodles and meat. Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.

  • Serve in a bowl. Today, I'm serving it with boiled eggs and various fresh vegetables. You can add any vegetables you have on hand. This dish enhances the flavor of minced mackerel, which is usually eaten with bread, but I've adapted it to be served with vermicelli noodles as a salad. The flavors blend well.
