Hello everyone! Today I'm taking you to a hotel and restaurant called The Old Mill Hotel in the Czech Republic. During my trip near Germany, I was looking for a hotel close to the main road and stumbled upon this place. It looked lovely, and even more so inside – a classic European style.
Besides being a hotel, it also has a restaurant, which was incredibly convenient – especially since it was raining and cold, and I didn't want to travel far for a restaurant. So, we chose to eat here.
The first dish was a great appetizer: potato soup with yellow leeks, delicious and tempting, topped with crispy bread – perfect for this cold weather.
Next, we ordered from a daily special menu. We ordered a variety of dishes, not repeating any, because we wanted to try many different things.
We ordered Beef Stroganoff, a tender and flavorful dish with a delicious sauce and mushrooms, served with mashed potatoes – a perfect accompaniment to the beef.
Another dish was roasted duck. The duck leg, drizzled with gravy, was incredibly appetizing. It was served with a side of sweet and sour red cabbage, a delicious complement to the roasted duck. On the side were two types of Bohemian-style dumplings: sliced bread dumplings and potato dumplings.
This is a popular dish in the Czech Republic.
Next up was Frankfurter soup. The broth was a rich, dark orange-red, but not very spicy. Inside were sliced sausage, sliced potatoes, and topped with palate. The stock was flavorful and perfect for the cold weather.
The next dish was beef soup. It contained shredded beef and beef chunks simmered in a clear broth; refreshing and comforting, also ideal for winter.
For dessert, there was a crepe sprinkled with icing sugar, served with a scoop of ice cream. This dish was also delicious and creamy.
And finally, ice cream. Even though it's cold, I still love ice cream, and this one looked so tempting! The cherry sauce was subtly sweet.
The perfect finishing drink is mulled red wine, a popular choice. I really love this drink because of its fragrant herbal aroma and slightly sweet taste – it's fantastic!
And these are the dishes we ordered. They all look so delicious, don't they? This was another great experience for us. After that, we rested. The next morning, we had a buffet breakfast.
