Spicy-Sweet Cassava Chips
A crispy, addictive snack that’s perfect for munching at home or even as a small business idea — here’s how to make these delicious spicy-sweet cassava chips!

Ingredients:
1 kg cassava (yuca)
Cooking oil for frying
Spicy balado seasoning:
100 g curly red chilies
50 g bird’s eye chilies
1 bulb of garlic
Salt
Flavor enhancers & sweeteners:
3 tbsp palm sugar
2 tbsp granulated sugar
Instructions:
Peel the cassava, cut into chunks, then rinse thoroughly.
Split each chunk and slice into thin pieces (the thinner, the crispier!).
Fry the cassava slices until golden brown and crispy. Drain well on paper towels.
Prepare the spicy balado seasoning: Blend the chilies and garlic, then sauté in a little oil. Add salt and flavor enhancer, and cook until the oil separates. Then add both types of sugar, stirring until fully dissolved and the seasoning is cooked through.
Turn off the heat, then add the fried cassava chips to the pan with the balado seasoning.
Toss gently until every chip is evenly coated. Your spicy-sweet cassava chips are ready to enjoy — and they’re great for selling too!
Happy cooking, we hope you love it!
