RECIPE: Delicious and healthy green peas with carrots and potatoes (ENG-ESP)

  • Good evening friends of hivefood, I wish you a happy start to the week... Next, I share with you the exquisite lunch I enjoyed with my family, today I will explain how to prepare some "delicious green peas with potatoes and carrot." Although it is a very balanced and complete dish, I love to accompany it with steamed rice and sautéed plantain... Let's put on the apron to make our delicious dish!
  • Buenas noches amigos de hivefood, les deseo un feliz comienzo de semana... A continuación, comparto con ustedes el exquisito almuerzo que disfruté con mi familia, hoy les explicaré como preparar unas “deliciosas arvejas con patatas y zanahoria”. Aunque es un plato MUY equilibrado y completo, me encanta acompañar con: arroz al vapor y plátanos sancochados... Pongámonos el delantal para realizar nuestro delicioso platillo!

  • INGREDIENTS: green peas, carrot, potatoes, garlic cloves, onion, black pepper, mild olive oil, cumin and salt to taste.
  • INGREDIENTES: arvejas, zanahoria, patatas, dientes de ajo, cebolla, pimienta negra, aceite de oliva suave, comino y sal al gusto.

PREPARATION/PREPARACIÓN

  • Place the peas in a deep pot and cover with water. Cook over high heat until tender. If needed, add more water during cooking to ensure the peas are covered again.
    Once the peas are slightly tender, add the carrots and potatoes. Season with black pepper, cumin, and salt to taste.
  • Incorporamos en una olla honda las arvejas, colocamos agua hasta cubrir... Cocinamos a fuego "alto" hasta comprobar que se ablandaron. Si durante el proceso de cocción consideran que deben colocar más agua pueden rectificar hasta volver a cubrirlas.
    Cuando la textura de las arvejas estén un poco blandas, vamos a colocar las zanahoria, junto con las patatas. En este paso procedemos a condimentar con: pimienta negra, comino y sal al gusto.

  • In this step, we're going to sauté the onions along with the garlic cloves... Add mild olive oil, sauté until they brown slightly (season with salt and pepper).
  • En este paso, vamos a sofreír las cebollas junto con los dientes de ajo... Integramos aceite de oliva suave, salteamos hasta que se doren un poco (salpimentamos).

  • We add our delicious sofrito to the peas... We cook over "medium-low" heat for 20 minutes or until we check that it is ready.
  • Integramos nuestro suculento sofrito a las arvejas... Cocinamos a fuego "medio-bajo" durante 20 minutos o hasta comprobar que está listo.
