One of the hardest things about being away from your home country is missing the food. I'm from eastern Venezuela, where we eat a lot of fish, a dish I miss terribly, especially when my father makes it. Yesterday, I went shopping and found a fish that caught my eye. The label on the tray said "pati." But it looked exactly like the catfish we eat in eastern Venezuela, so I bought it and immediately set about preparing it.
Una de las cosas más difíciles de no estar en tu país de origen es la gastronomía. Yo soy del oriente venezolano donde se come mucho pescado, comida que extraño mucho y más preparada por mi padre. Ayer sali a realizar unas compras y encontré un pescado que me llamo mucho la atención en la etiqueta de la bandeja decia pati. Pero a mí me parecía igualito al bagre que comemos en oriente así que lo compre y enseguida me dispuse a prepararlo.

Para acompañar el pescado y sentirme de verdad en casa quise hacer un intento de bola de plátano así que compré plátano verde, se le quita la cáscara y se corta en trozos pequeños y se pone a hervir .

Cuando el plátano esté blandito se saca del agua, se coloca en un bol a qué repose un poco. Y iniciamos preparando la bola , se rallan los plátanos y luego se amasan para crear una masa compacta .

En Venezuela se realiza la bola en un pilón, luego de tener los plátanos hervidos se van colocando uno a uno en este pilón y con la mano de madera se van pisando.
