My dear #foodieslovers, I greet you hoping that everything is going very well in your lives. Certainly, cooking gives me incredible pleasure; the release of dopamine and serotonin when I see my dishes made correctly and being able to show them off, I love it! But, what about those moments when it's the perfect time to taste the seasoning of other people and cultures; we can't deny ourselves, so today I take you to a place that has been in my city for years, but I had not visited in its new location, with very positive changes included: KLEYOPATRA RESTAURANT.
It's a place that sells traditional Arabic food; it was previously in one location and this time they changed it. I felt immense embarrassment because I swore it was still in the same place, only to find out that for a year it has been operating in its new location. Yes, I don't go out much, especially not to eat Arabic food. My J.J. On the contrary, one time we went out, he was 'spellbound' by the shawarma machine that was outside and in plain view, always saying 'we have to come eat there,' but the opportunity never came.
My friend Nuria had a birthday and guess what, she celebrated it with a gathering at Kleyopatra, so we agreed to go. This way, we would settle that debt for the shawarma that my J.J. craved.
Well, the venue is beautiful, spacious, clean, well-lit, with two areas (one with air conditioning and one without) that are just as cozy as the rest. The service is top-notch, as they are always very attentive to our demands and collaborations. I must admit that I hadn't tried anything beyond shawarma and falafel when it comes to Arab food; I think it was due to my fear of the unknown and not stepping out of my comfort zone. Today, since I eat almost everything, I dared to try this platter of different flavors and dishes all in one. My strategy was to taste them first to know which flavors I liked and which I did not.
I liked most of the things: the falafel, the lamb empanadas, the paprika sauce and the eggplant sauce (I think), and the cuts of meat; they were all too good. Now, I passed on the lettuce wraps and the kibbeh, I didn't like them. This platter was enough for everyone and there were leftovers.
The novelty is that when singing happy birthday (a tradition at the end of the celebration), the waiters approached with instruments to accompany us and make the moment more enjoyable.


But, while we enjoyed all the tasty and delicious things about the dish, my J.J. couldn't help but watch the preparation of the shawarma, so we continued with the craving because I joined his request, since those smells and the view we had were tempting and provocative 😊. We didn't want to buy it to take away because it just doesn't taste the same, and the idea is to enjoy it on-site for the pictures. I will bring them to you soon! 😎. In conclusion, the place is one of the most visited in the city, the prices are affordable, they accept Cashea (financing), and everything is excellent. The only downside is that the music is very low and almost nonexistent, as well as a very small TV for the entire place. That night the vinotinto was playing and it was very difficult to appreciate it from the angle we were at. They could improve that and it would be amazing 💯.
