Hello, Hi , Namastey to all hive user's reaching this post , hope doing great . So Today I am sharing you the recipe of jackfruit known as ' कटहल ' in India. This is the first time I tried making this vegetable, my mother insisted me for making it. She guided me all the way preparing it.
My mother chopped the jackfruit for me because its way too sticky . But the way to cut is that you have to apply oil in your hands and the knife you are using before it . So that the stickness won't remains in your hand .
After chopping it properly, wash it with fresh water .
Now take 2 onion , 1.1/2 tomato and garlic, then peel and cut it into large peaces properly. ( I chopped finely but its not necessary because we have to grind it in the mixer ).
After this grind onion ,garlic together and tomatoes separately.
After this take a pan and pour a very little amount of oil in it . After the oil gets heated up ,then fry the chopped jack fruit for few minutes ( dont let it burn) .
Take it out in a plate.
Again you have to add some oil in the pan and some cumin seeds .
Then add the grinded onion and garlic paste until it gets a little brown. As soon as it turns brown add the tomato paste in it and stur it properly.
After this add all the spices and a little finely chopped ginger in it .
The colour of the paste will be change as soon as you add spices in it .
Now pour the fried jack fruit in the paste .
Mix it and put a lid at the pan . Wait for 5 minutes, if you think that its all dried so you can add a little water and then leave it for few minutes.
Abd here you delicious,spicy dish is ready.
