Home Made Fish Pepper Soup Preparation: A good appetizer and grandma's Favorite

There are different methods I normally use to make fish preparation for my family especially when they have lost their appetize.
Fish pepper soup is a very good appetizer and since the fish is a light meal it doesn't get to fill ones stomach such that they won't be able to eat their main meals again.

I equally learnt that when people begin to grow old, it is better to feed them with more fish than meat. Beef is not too good for elderly people. Sometimes I also prepare this fish pepper soup for lighten the mood in the house as everyone often cheers up when they see a plate of this.

Ingredients needed for fish pepper soup are

  • Fish

  • Ginger

  • Scent leaves or curry leaves

  • Pepper and Onions

  • Salt Spices and Seasoning cubes

  • Some lettuce/cabbage

  • Vegetables oil.

You can decide to use Cat fish or any other Substitute that can taste just as fine as this. Cat fish is often the best. Cat fish can also be prepared in another method using the oven. I will share with us how that is being prepared and sold in the market for my subsequent blogs.

To prepare this I first wash all the ingredients clean

Next I pounded the peppers and onions together. I live pounding or grating these peppers as I don't want them blended too smooth using a blender.

Next I added a little vegetables oils in the pot. You can chose to use palm oil or vegetable oil. But being a homemade meals I prefer palm oil, vegetables oil gives it better appearance but the palm oil gives it a the more local taste we desire.

To the palm oil I added the mashed pepper and onions
Then went in the seasoning.

I added a little of these curry and thyme species ten went in the scent leaves and ginger.

You can decide to use a powdered ginger and tumeric if they are within reach.
The washes fish went in finally and after mixing them properly, they were allowed to steam and then served hot.

You can enjoy this along a few slice of cucumber or very little cabbage so that you don't end up filling your stomach before the main meal.
My grandma loves this so much that after a plate of this she may decide not to eat anything else, this is the more reason why she often demands for more lettuces and cabbages over her plate of the pepper soup.
