During a quick visit, I went to Alejos Grill (that’s how you’ll find it on Instagram), a restaurant located on the Pan-American Highway in Coloncito, Táchira state. It’s very easy to get to, as all cars passing through Coloncito drive right past the front of this restaurant. Although they also offer hamburgers, their specialty is mixed grilled meats, surf and turf, chicken, and churrasco, which was my choice.
The dish came with a large piece of medium-rare meat (they asked me how I wanted it cooked), chorizo, semi-hard Andean cheese, rustic potatoes, and grilled tomatoes with pepper. Speaking of pepper, the food comes with a fairly strong but very tasty pepper sauce. You can see that it was a lot of food, and I thought I wouldn’t be able to eat it all, and I was right. I had never tried grilled tomatoes before, and they were very tasty, as were the potatoes, which went very well with the pepper sauce. The meat was cooked to perfection for me, although I didn’t eat all the fat around the edges because there was too much of it, so I only left a little cheese and chorizo. But everything was very tasty.
For drinks, I could choose between fresh juices or bottled juices, but my sister recommended a coconut and lemon smoothie that was to die for, very tasty. I think I liked the drink more than the food. I never thought that the combination of coconut and lemon would be so delicious. The presentation was very pretty, and the smoothie was like a frappé with lots of ice that slowly melted (it’s very hot in Coloncito). It was a great meal.

En una visita rápida estuve en Alejos Grill (así lo encuentras en Instagram), un restaurante ubicado en la carretera panamericana de Coloncito estado Táchira, es muy fácil de llegar pues todos los automóviles que pasan por Coloncito pasan por el frente de este restaurante. Aunque también ofrecen hamburguesas su especialidad son las carnes en parrillas mixtas, mar y tierra, pollo y churrasco que fue mi elección.
El plato venía con un gran trozo de carne a terminó medio (me preguntaron a qué termino la quería), chorizo, queso andino semi duro, papas rústicas y tomate al grill con pimienta y hablando de pimienta la comida trae una salsa de pimienta bastante fuerte pero muy rica. Se puede ver qué era mucha comida y pensé que no iba a poder comerme todo y así fue, nunca había probado los tomates al grill y estaban muy ricos al igual que las papas que combinaban muy bien con la salsa de pimienta, la carne estaba en un terminó ideal para mí aunque no me comí toda la grasa de los bordes pues era mucha, así que solo dejé un poco de queso y chorizo. Pero todo está muy rico.
Para tomar podía escoger entre jugos naturales o de botella, pero mi hermana me recomendó un batido de coco y limón que estaba para morirse, muy rico, creo que me gustó más la bebida que la comida, nunca pensé que la combinación del coco y el limón fuera tan delicioso, la presentación fue muy linda y el batido era como un frappé con mucho hielo que poco a poco se fue derritiendo (en Coloncito hace mucha calor). Fue una gran comida.
