Bestco Supermarket Lunch + Bakery Stuff In Toronto

in #food3 days ago

Hi there. Another food blog post here.

I visit Bestco supermarket in downtown Toronto for a quick lunch and have snacks from Chinese bakeries.

Bestco Supermarket Sushi Lunch

Bestco Supermarket is another Chinese supermarket franchise in the Toronto area. They are not as big as T & T Supermarket since T & T has so many locations in Canada and a few in the United States. Bestco is an alternative supermarket brand with 4 locations in the Toronto and surrounding area.

I check out their recent downtown Toronto location. It is located near Spadina and Queen, near the Toronto Chinatown area, near the Eaton Centre mall and near a lot of condo buildings. It is not at a busy area but still a good location.

Yelp photos.

Chinese and Asian supermarkets have their produce, hot foods, sushi, snacks. This supermarket is no different. Most of the items at Bestco are Chinese but they do have Korean instant noodles, Korean items, Japanese food products and other Asian products.

For my lunch, I get this Salmon Town sushi package. Two pieces of salmon sashimi and the other pieces have salmon on top.

Mashion Bakery Notes

For a quick snack, I do visit Mashion Bakery just outside of Toronto Chinatown. I used to go here sometimes when I lived in Toronto. I am still surprised that their prices on their baked goods is low. For a BBQ pork bun, 1.50 CAD is really good given that most places charge at least 2 CAD. (BBQ Bun picture not shown as I forgot to take a picture.)

St Germain Bakery Egg Tarts

Someone in my family wanted me to load up on egg tarts from St Germain Bakery for them. They had a sale going on for their 40th anniversary. To be honest, I did not know about the St Germain Bakery franchise until 3 years ago.

I visit the one St Germain Bakery location at Toronto's Eaton Centre Mall. They have 2 locations. The one by the subway metro entrance was busy so I went to the other one. The egg tart on sale was 1 CAD each. Normally an egg tart would be at 1.50 CAD or 2 CAD each so 1 CAD for an egg tart is really good. I get seven of them.
