Last night, I had a long discussion about Hive and the upcoming HardFork 28, which will be released on the 19th. I had a great and engaging conversation with other Hiveans about their thoughts and expectations regarding the changes to the upvoting system. I think there should be more discussions about it within the community to bring greater clarity. Anyway, I’m sure there will be plenty more talks about it as we get closer to the date 😁.
For today, let me simply share about yesterday’s lunch at Ivan’s Carbina. This is a spot I try to visit whenever I’m in the Woodlands area. It’s located outside the city, but it still gets quite crowded at times.
The Woodlands area has that interesting city-like vibe, even though it’s technically away from the city. And where there’s a crowd, there’s always business that thrives. There are plenty of shops and restaurants competing for customers’ attention. With healthy competition, you can expect great products, especially food, to emerge. Among the nicest places I’ve found in this area, Ivan’s Carbina Western Cuisine is definitely one of the top-notch spots on my list.
They offer a wide selection of proteins and side dishes. During my visit yesterday, I was particularly craving their Mushroom Chicken Chop, one of their bestsellers, so that was an easy choice for me. I also picked two side dishes that I knew would go well with it.
First was their rich and super tasty butter rice, which perfectly complements the creamy mushroom sauce. It really elevates the flavor, adding more depth and indulgence to the dish. Does it make the meal a bit heavy? Yes, LOL. But that’s okay, it was the weekend, and I gave myself a cheat pass for delicious, if not exactly healthy, food! 😆
To balance the richness of the mushroom sauce and butter rice, I added a green salad as one of my sides. I loved the crunch of the fresh romaine lettuce, it was refreshing and healthy. There were also a few kernels of corn that added sweetness, along with a touch of sesame mayo sauce for extra flavor. It was a playful mix of greens, gravy, and of course, the juicy chicken chop. What made this dish even more enjoyable was that the chicken was butterflied and boneless, so I could just slice through the meat and enjoy every bite along with the sides.
Overall, it was another satisfying meal at Ivan’s Carbina, and it reminded me why this place remains one of my go-to spots in the Woodlands. The combination of hearty flavors and cozy ambiance never fails to make the visit worthwhile. I’m already looking forward to my next trip back for another delicious plate of comfort food!
