Review: The 🦆🪿Night Noodles Restaurant in Soc Son

in #food3 days ago

There is one thing that people who work late at night like me often face: feeling hungry in the middle of the night. 😭😖You know, when the clock shows 11 p.m., your stomach is empty, and almost no shops are still open. Finding a place that is tasty, safe, and not too expensive at that hour is not easy. Luckily, I found such a place – a night restaurant with no name, near Soc Son district.🤓😎

The first thing that impressed me was the opening time. The shop starts selling at around 10 p.m. and stays open until morning. For night owls like me, people who work late or finish a night shift, this is a real “savior.” Instead of eating instant noodles at home or choosing random street food, I can come here, order a bowl of noodles, and eat in a cool, clean space.🤩

Talking about price, I have to say this place is very reasonable. People who often eat at night know that night food is usually more expensive than daytime food because there are fewer shops open. But here, one bowl of noodles is only 35,000 VND – the same as morning prices. This surprised me and is also the reason why I want to share it.🫣🤭
The restaurant is simple, with normal tables and chairs, like many other shops. But the good thing is that they have air conditioning. On hot days, eating in a cool room like this is a great experience.🫶🏻
The menu has many choices: duck noodles, dry mixed duck noodles, chicken noodles, “cloud egg” noodles, and other dishes with chicken, duck, or balut eggs. That night, I came at about 11:30 p.m. and ordered two dishes: one bowl of mixed dry duck noodles, and one bowl of noodles with duck gizzards, liver, and duck eggs.🪿🦆🐔

The mixed dry duck noodles here are just the way I like: a lot of dried bamboo shoots (soaked until soft), mixed with soy sauce, small noodles, crispy fried shallots, and roasted peanuts. The duck meat is thinly sliced, firm but still soft, and well mixed with the ingredients so every bite has flavor. This dish is tasty, not too salty, with the light crunch of bamboo shoots and the rich taste of peanuts. For people who don’t want hot soup at night, this is a light but filling option.

The noodles with duck gizzards, liver, and duck eggs are the highlight.

The bowl is full, with golden duck eggs that are round and soft; the gizzards and liver are cleaned well, with no bad smell.

The soup is naturally sweet from simmered duck bones not from MSG. When you bite into the duck egg, the rich and creamy taste spreads in your mouth, mixing with the light sweetness of the broth and the smell of green onions and fresh herbs. The gizzards are crunchy, the liver is soft and has a gentle taste. Everything together makes a flavorful dish that I finished completely and still wanted more.
I also ordered two chicken feet. At first, I was not sure, because I have heard many bad things about frozen chicken feet.

But the chicken feet here are different: fresh, big, yellow, and with no strange smell. I am sensitive to taste, so I can say these chicken feet are clean and safe. The price is 15,000 VND each, about 5,000 more than other places, but the quality is worth it.

The biggest plus of this shop is that the quality and prices are always stable. Even though they sell late at night, the ingredients are fresh and cooked with care.

The owner is friendly, service is quick, and you don’t have to wait long.
If you live near Soc Son or pass by late at night, I recommend you try it once. Even though there is no signboard, just a simple restaurant, the taste of the mixed duck noodles, duck gizzard and egg noodles, and fresh chicken feet will impress you. Eating a hot bowl of noodles in an air-conditioned room late at night, with a few other late customers around, is a special feeling.
