Superhuman Academy is a youth parkour program based out of Boulder, Colorado designed to help children gain confidence while safely learning how to overcome obstacles, both in the gym and in life. The founders, Nicholas Zaleski and Adam LaPlante, are adamant about being positive role models for their students to look up to and their passion for teaching kids is truly palpable.
Natalie McKechnie Mannherz, an occupational therapist and founder of Kids Included! Of Colorado, works with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and other sensory issue. Most of the kids she works with have trouble with coordination, spacial awareness, and confidence so she was trying to find an activity that could help. Superhuman Academy and Natalie joined forces to provide a special needs parkour program for families in Boulder, Colorado.
The program was so well-received that they've since expanded their program to more families and continue to grow with each session.
Parkour is widely regarded as an extreme sport but the passion and dedication from these instructors show that it can also be a powerful tool to safely develop the body and mind.
