A Domino Fail

Last weekend, we decided to order from Dominos through their app for dinner. We have used this format before with no problems. However, this time "problems" isn't even a good word to describe it. After ordering almost $70.00 worth of food (using "worth" loosely), we ended up calling the store after 2 hours. The app stated that our order was coming from the Bayville, New Jersey, location. We were told that our order was out for delivery but the guy who answered the phone wasn't sure as to when we will be getting it. Remember the days when the order had to arrive in 15 minutes or some crazy number like that!

The young lady who delivered the order seemed visibly upset. From what I got, they were very swamped and short-handed. I would have been okay with an order being late for those reasons. My mood quickly changed when I looked at the food. Not only was the food cold, but we never received the stuffed crust that we ordered. The wings looked burnt, like some of the pizza, but tasted okay.

Now, let's talk about the cheese steak pictured above. First of all, the steak didn't cover the bread, besides being burnt. All of the toppings were burnt, which included mushrooms, onions and peppers. Whatever cheese there was must have disintegrated down to tiny strips. The sandwich was basically inedible.

Now here's the real funny part (except if you were the one expecting to eat this). The app showed that the order was in the "quality control" stage for a very long time. What the fuck were they looking at!!! The order was paid through a paypal account and when we called to complain we were told that we would get a credit towards a free pizza. Woo hoo! We aren't the type to complain but there was no way we were letting this go. A survey came up on the app the next day and we wrote about our experience. However, I don't know if a real person is going to see our response.

How could food that looked like ours be sent out for delivery. I feel like the next time I am in Bayville that I should stop by this location if we don't get a response from the survey. Mistakes are one thing, like forgetting part of the order, but this is blatant disregard for their customers releasing food that looked like the preparer just took a dump in the box!
