They say, “Fine words butter no parsnips” but let me tell you, a fine-edges chef’s knife will chop them up nicely! Today’s culinary adventure represents several firsts for me. It is my first time to cook in a slow cooker, my first time to use a real chef’s knife, and definitely my first time to cut up (ok, let’s be honest, first time to touch!) a parsnip. I am also on a vegan journey right now so I chose to christen my new Crockpot, knife, and cutting board by making a “Vegan Cassoulet”.
The recipe said, “Prep time should take about 20 minutes” but it took this newbie all of Creative Work Hour to get everything opened, cleaned, chopped and mixed. Fingers crossed as I now bide my time for the 9 hours it will take to cook. 🤞🧑🍳
