Back again for #beersaturday as I have for probably 446 weeks! It is never too late to join the party and the gang at https://hive.blog/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-446 will welcome your post about beer.

In this edition, I am taking you with me to another craft brewery for a pint, looking back on Advent Calendar beers, and watching hockey & playing some music with a beer.

The pint of the week is one I have enjoyed on the town in a social setting enjoying company, a great way to have a pint. Though I love the simplicity of an impromptu pint at a local pub with friends, among my favourite PotWs is in the tap room at a craft brewery. What better way to discover the styles and personality of beer than fresh draft served by people who are passionate about craft beer.

As you might be able to tell, this one was enjoyed on a road trip to Prince Edward County at Parsons Brewing Nice place a little out in the country with a big property full of fun outdoor features and a rustic chalet style inside. Delicious beer too as I enjoyed a Pale Ale while my friend went for his favourite Amber Ale.

Beer Advent Calendar

You don't have to go far back in my recent #beersaturday posts to read about the Beer Advent Calendar which was the end game of a big brewery tour. Each of the individually wrapped and numbered craft beers were from one of the 24 participants to enjoy from December 1st to Christmas Eve.

11 NEIPA!

IMG_7592.JPG

Beer number 17 actually turned out to be 11, an NEIPA from the same brewery as the PotW! I figured is was simply named after the batch number that it was brewed in and decided to keep brewing. Now that I look at the can, I can see the heavy Spinal Tap reference as this beer apparently goes to 11!

The beer itself is all I enjoy and strive for in the NEIPAs we brew. Hazy and sweet/hoppy with the Citra and Mosaic hops but a neat texture with the Vic Secret we have never used. Almost perfect at 6.1%, it is listed as only 2 IBU on their all our beer menu and I assure you it is way more bitter than that despite the sweet and smooth. Delicious beer and I would buy again!

Musical Beer?

Beer also goes very well with sports and music! This time of year, we are beginning the second half of hockey season as things heat up. I am also getting ready to learn a whole pile of new tunes with the band for our yearly show in April. So, I am dusting off the guitars and enjoying a french Unibroue New England IPA to triple down on the progress! Always loved Unibroue even before my IPA obsession and even more so afterward!

The description behind neipa can sure does bring some curiosity, seems a bit more sweet or tasty than other beers

I think that is why I love NEIPA so much. IPA in general is so much more bold and the New England variety packs some fruity, sweet, or even tropical flavours in to balance the bitterness.

Ruined my palate for regular beers almost! Good thing there is IPA everywhere.
