Back again for #beersaturday for week 449 weeks despite taking a breather for the last couple editions. It is never too late to join the party and the gang at https://hive.blog/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-449 will welcome your post about beer.
In this edition, I am enjoying lunch, Advent Calendar and the beer we brew!

I enjoy a pint at home probably more than most as I have 2 draft taps serving the beer I brew with the gang. That being said, I also enjoy a pint on the town with friends at a pub, show, restaurant or other social setting. These tall cool ones were enjoyed at a nice lunch earlier this week. Sleeman was one of the original domestic micro breweries that grew to the point they became the third largest brewery in Canada and is now owned by Sapporo. I opted for the crisp lager for this meal and @sequentialvibe went for the darker lager.
The meal in question was this delicious spread of Indian food which I didn't develop a deep love for til I was in my 20s. Hence the crisp lager to wash down the wild taste and wonderful spice.

Beer Advent Calendar Selection
You don't have to go far back in my recent #beersaturday posts to read about the Beer Advent Calendar which was the end game of a big brewery tour. Each of the individually wrapped and numbered craft beers were from one of the 24 participants to enjoy from December 1st to Christmas Eve. This one was a well wrapped surprise with a felt jacket and friendly snowman making you wonder what is beneath
Rorshach!
Usually, I am okay with Oktoberfest beers but am a little bored with them as they are meant for sport-drinking sessions which I rarely partake in. I do love The Watchmen comics and shows so I immediately enjoyed this one even before tasting. Looking closer, this baby weighs in at 6.2% ABV which would cause havoc at a 10-beer evening. The taste was actually really damn good with a bit of extra sweetness and a bit of hops for extra crisp. So, wonderful beer and a proper tribute for Oktoberfest!

Brew Your Own!

For my newer friends, I am part of a brewing co-op in town operating out of a friend's garage. We brew approx. 60 litres per week which sounds like too much until you divide that between 4 people. Such a great pastime when you are a self-proclaimed #beerologist and love being able to brew your own custom recipes right from grains.
So, the beer I have been enjoying the most in the last few weeks is our Funky New England IPA weighing in at 6.3% ABV. HEALTHY doses of Mosaic, Galaxy and Citra hops with a little darker grain built in for a touch more malt and that wonderful copper hue. We finished this keg during a weekend session and I am already missing it.

#BEERSaturday!

Weather, sports, hanging out, any reason to abandon productivity for a beer adventure.
Now it is time for you to join me, @detlev , and these other beerologists because there is always room for more beer bloggers at this week's Beer Saturday gathering... https://hive.blog/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-449 Cheers to beers no matter what the season!
